I will do my best to take part! Like @indigobunting.bsky.social I also remember it from Twxxxxr.

Nope - solo was Pete Christlieb on tenor.
Tom Scott arranged the brass / reeds on the Aja album, and Brecker does not appear.

No 71 "Evidence of Autumn"
Now THIS is the Genesis I'm here for. This Duke B-side is a melancholy joy; Banks revisits his "Vine" instrumental break.
Someone with musical background can describe WHY this song works much better than I.
My ranking - 15

No 72 - "It's Gonna Get Better"
I quite like this one, but do not let me near that extended version because if I have to hear that chorus a THIRD time, I'm gonna hurl.
It's good, but my ranking - N/A

That Flecktones album blew my head apart when I heard it. Boundaries of bluegrass and jazz shattered, stomped, and slung aside.
Hello!
Whichever one you've not heard, it's highly recommended.

No 73 - "The Brazilian"
An OK jam with an attempt at a catchy hook, but overall it's a miss in my book - like much of IT. Feels built entirely on sequencers that lacks any substantive melody.
Repetitive B-side fodder.

No 74 - "Man On The Corner"
A Phil-penned song for "Abacab." It's good but time has not been kind to it simply due to the over saturation of Mssr. Collins.

No 75 - "Time Table"
This is a bit of a twee one, innit? It never really lands much of anywhere, and the repeated dramatic flourish is a slap more than a punch.
I'd much rather hear "Naminanu."

Over on the Hoffman Forums, a tournament recently ran to determine the top tracks from Genesis, a band that meant so much to me in my college days (disclosure: they lost me at with Invisible Touch).
I'm going to be reviewing the #GenesisTop75 as per that effort; expect hot takes. Please chime in!
