As a jew raised by brits in the southern US who now lives in new england, there's just too many options.
This is going to be a hot take, but I don't like tea. Like, black tea. My parents have nearly disowned me for this, but it's just....not enjoyable to me?

Actually, no more thoughts. Was gonna go on a tangent about how permissions and junior engineers can also cause similar problems to AI, but honestly, humans and AI are not great at writing good code, systems are complicated, all you can do is learn from your mistakes
It's plenty possible that some of the code that caused problems was written by AI, but the whole thing about this kind of incident is that it's caused by multiple systems failing in unexpected ways. (more thoughts, more thread!)
Anyway, I am aware that some tech people have a nasty habit of thinking we're experts in everything. I personally am very aware that I'm not an expert in everything. But I am in this. And it's frustrating to watch people be both wrong and jerks about something they don't understand.
I do think they should work on their time to resolution, since the instability seemed to last for a really long time during both incidents, but I'm sure they're aware of that
Bsky did a very nice writeup of what happened the time before last, hopefully they'll also do one about the more recent outage, but either way, they're doing all the right things to examine and learn from their mistakes.
Dealing with this kind of incident is literally my job, and while we never *want* incidents, they unfortunately happen, even at companies that don't use AI.
I'm getting increasingly close to picking a fight with the next person who posts the "Bluesky DOSed themselves with AI" take.
It appears to finally be spring in Boston
is it related to whatever the thing is that northerners *inexplicably* call a "cabinet"?

Sounds like they cleared up whatever was the problem with the flight termination system and are on track to launch still #Artemis
Learning that the Artemis II crew will contain both the first person of color and the first woman to leave low earth orbit, and congrats to them on most successfully getting as far away as possible from here.
Who should I be following on here for Artemis updates?
Anyone else notice the android weather app being extremely wrong recently? It's been off by 10 degrees here in Somerville yesterday and today
Important crab info: if you use google meet, try out the crab reaction emoji. I promise it's worth your while

I think the idea is you want it to be with you so you can keep an eye on it??? Not sure what you're supposed to do if it catches on fire though
yeah, you can, you just can't put it in checked bags
yeah, we think it's docker this time though, not github, amazingly
ooo, too punny, feels like Dowd
imagine if it had a pleasantly translucent teal option. An iMacPhone if you will
