We'd be just fine - ecstatic, really - with having all of the "work" by #DOGE undone - 116 fired National Endowment for the Humanities employees would get their jobs back, and 1400+ grants would be restored. #NEH

It still feels inconceivable that this was nearly a year ago, when two-thirds of National Endowment for the Humanities staff were fired at once.
Most programs and initiatives no longer exist.

This is, clearly put, not one of the criteria that should be used in the mass termination of career civil servants. #NEH

Humanities folks are used to getting by on a shoestring - and not only getting by, but doing remarkable good for the world.
The small, independent agency burned down by Nate Cavanaugh and Justin Fox is (was) the National Endowment for the Humanities, and along with all our grants, they also took the careers of 70% of agency staff. #NEH
