Someone asked me to develop their super8 cartridge, but given the cracks, it doesn’t make sense, every image will end up overexposed

Those very special film splices went flawlessly through our 35/16 film slitter, perforator, 8mm slitter, cartridge/camera and finally through all film processing baths. WOW! We would not have expected they still look like new. So they should also survive the telecine process. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Enclosed some screen grabs from the very first preliminary test of WITTNERCOLOR 100 on a very “grey” and overcast day. We still have to find the correct LUT for this new emulsion. But the first results look promising.

Great fun: testing an entirely new film emulsion in Super 8 application. First samples were made from “hand coated” [loop pilot coater] film strips spliced together to reach 50ft full cartridge length. Perfectly processed by @super8.nl (despite the splices!)

Finally we found the time to expose some Original Wolfen Color 200 for an ECN-2 versus C-41 comparison test.
And we have started testing an entirely new Super 8 film created by Wittner Cinetec.

Nothing is lost. All films are safe. This is just an extra warning for all super8 lovers.

Er staan 2 mooie super8 evenementen gepland in oktober. Op 11 oktober is de GS8D door Stichting Amateurfilm bij @filmwerkplaats Daar ben ik ook aanwezig om mijn ontwikkelwerk op een groot doek te zien.

Dan is er op 18 oktober in Neuchâtel Zwitserland dit super8 film festival, ga dat beide zien.

Be aware. Not all cameras will work. Definitly read your camera manual.
