This is the first testing agreement that we have signed with Ming Yang Smart Energy and builds on years of experience of testing major new pieces of technology that have gone on to play big roles in the UK’s expansion of offshore wind.
📢We announced this week that we have signed a contract with Ming Yang Smart Energy, the largest private wind turbine manufacturer in China, to provide testing and validation of the main bearing for its 18.5MW offshore wind turbine.

F4OR is a unique programme that aims to galvanise companies within the UK supply chain with the tools they need to succeed in the offshore renewable energy sector. This regional programme is funded by The North East Combined Authority.

We continue to work with ETZ Ltd to help foster innovation to support the growth of floating offshore wind, which represents a game changing economic opportunity for Aberdeen and the north east of Scotland.
Our proposal to move forward with the design and preparation for a large scale mooring line test rig at our Floating Wind Innovation Centre (FLOWIC) in Aberdeen has also been supported with equal funding from the Energy Transition Zone Ltd (ETZ Ltd).
📢We've been awarded £500,000 by The Scottish Government through its Just Transition Fund, which is focused on offshore wind infrastructure and supply chain development.
