After lots of filament feed failures on my CR-10 V3 I decided to change the stock print head with a Creality Sprite.

Though the Sprite I had on hand wasn't meant for CR-10. With some modifications to the connectors and cable I got it to work just fine.

Now I can print head bases again!!

This morning I read Mozilla is turning the beloved Firefox into an AI browser. I guess, if you take google money enshittification is right around the corner.

I waited a bit for my FP4 to get out-of-date before flashing it due to Android's anti-rollback feature. I had some trouble getting the device to talk with my PC, but that was due to an incomplete USB-C data cable. Make sure you get a good one that's fully wired.

Assuming you have some experience using the command line, it's mostly "follow the instructions". There's a FP5 instruction; doc.e.foundation/devices/FP5/... You're free to DM me if you run into issues.

My judgement may be biased due to my career in IT, but I'd say it's a solid 8/10.

I haven't checked my FP4 yet.

It may be a graphical glitch. If I wait a couple of secods it turns blue, though not all the time. When it doesn't and I blacken the phone and bring it back up agian, and check the tile it turns blue again. 🤔

Got a quick question. When I bring up my phone (but not unlock it) it doesn't show the advanced privacy icon and the tile when swiping down is greyed out. 🤔 I expect it's still running, but it doesn't appear to be. When I unlock the phone it's clearly running. Is this on purpose?

The FP4 battery wasn't great to begin with, but I have noticed a faster drain recently as well. I turned off a lot of hidden telemetry in apps and it helped. But, I flashed it to /e/OS a couple of days ago and I can tell it's lasting a day or two longer.

I don't recall when I first started using Vivaldi, must be ✨ human experience ✨ as well.

I got my Fairphone 6 with /e/OS a couple of days ago. It's great! I love it so much, I also flashed my Fairphone 4 to /e/OS. Moving away from google for good.

How did the flashing process go? Is it just as straight forward as installing /e/OS?

Android 13 with September 5th patch, btw. Locking the bootloader should be okay.

Flashing /e/OS worked. I see it says Android security patch(1 oct) and Vendor security patch(5 sep). So, I'm guessing it's safe to lock the bootloader now without bricking my phone. 🤷

All my failed efforts in the past where due to a not completely wired-through USB-C data cable. I had a NVMe USB-C cable which was sufficient. Doing it manually is easy!

That's an interesting read. Some of it I was already aware of, but to learn how the biggest spyware network just leaks your information is insane. Looks like a race between Meta, Alphabet and Microsoft to harvest your data the best. Spying localhost apps, pushing AI chatbots and W11 "companian" OS.
