[6] Birthright citizenship is a longstanding constitutional right that has upheld the promise of equal citizenship for more than 100 years. We call on subcommittee members to uphold the U.S. Constitution and protect future generations’ right to citizenship.

- Increasing burdens on all families welcoming a new child.
- Poor developmental outcomes due to a lack of access to critical benefits and other supports.
- Increasing the risk of babies and children being subject to detention and deportation.
