80 keuro??
Anyone here having benchtop NMR in their lab?
Any recommendations for the cheapest ones? from those happy with the cheapest ones?
I was looking back at this photo because I was remembering a great talk by Howard Whitlock.
Among the other remarkable contributors not mentioned yet whose work is worth revisiting are Soledad Penades, Andy Hamilton, Andre Collet and Günter Wulff.
Wow, never seen anything like that, and no idea how it would go to your spirals!
In your arrays of flat crystals there seems to be a preferred chirality. Is the material chiral?
SEM image of twisted crystals
Beautiful! It reminds me of something we saw in SEM of twisted crystals (doi.org/10.1002/chir...) where flat crystals seemed to be joined at points - we thought it was because the twisted crystals had broken in contact with the stub surface, relieving the twist strain. Do you see twisted crystals?
How do you map the "fragile" fibers of a supramolecular #hydrogel without breaking them? This study compares confocal microscopy (CLSM) & #cryogenic scanning electron microscopy (cryo-SEM) to find the perfect imaging balance.

Jon Sessler for sure!
Yep! (I guess Dennis hasn't changed much!)
5 women of a lot, not untypical of the time unfortunately...
The bald fellow? I believe that is (the late) Dudley H. Williams.
Yes!

Try the great Kurt Mislow !
Spot on Anna!

Yes Eli ! And Dennis Dougherty to the right.
Supramolecular chemists, can you help me out? Who do you recognise in this photograph from 1994?

Read about the new potential researchers are finding for nitrile rubber, where single-use gloves need not be discarded but can instead present an exciting opportunity for upcycling with the help of chemistry.

Lizzie Killalea, David Amabilino, Flavia Pop and Cristina Oliveras in Lumomat Angers
Congratulations to Flavia Pop @univangers.bsky.social @cnrs.fr , a former postdoc and present collaborator, for her habilitation! Seen here with Lizzie Killalea and Cristina Oliveras, both Doctoral graduates from my group, who joined the celebration.
We've been hearing from a teacher growing a 2kg copper sulfate crystal www.chemistryworld.com/culture/how-.... Which led us to wonder what other record-breaking crystals are out there?
