Had a fun time beating my record run in Leaf Green at 10:39 with a type run and fun naming convention. I will say I forgot how TM dependent you are for moves. If I didn’t have surf it would have been water gun or hyropump. Overall, a fun blast from the past.

Finished Trails Through Daybreak. A lot less life-sim than Persona which can get a little too micro managey at points. No complaints, Falcom RPGs are usually really great with good characters and plots and Daybreak is no different. I will wonder how the series will end.

Finally, finished Age of Imprisonment. Best content was anything with our forgotten heroes (knight construct & Calamo). Still feel Age of Calamity had the better co-op the maps and not every map was red. Which one do you think is better?

Finally completed all the Marvel titles in Grand Bazaar. Took 300 hours, with the get all the animal brands as the longest(you get 1 brand upgrade per season with 3 being max for 8 animals… it’s a time sink) not sure if I want to get all the bazaar titles next (99).

Well that was a final battle, took more than half my playtime to create the ultimate crew and we managed to put through. Definitely one of the more challenging tactician rpg’s I’ve played, but the plot totally made it worth it.

Completed Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined.
Loved all the quality of life features(I played the DS version so very appreciated, especially the save points). The new tablet at the end really helps add the finishing touch to the story. Now to see which game gets remade next.

Completed the Cult of the Lamb DLC WoolHaven. Finished it in co-op so it was a goat. Really impressed with the new game mechanics as they work so well with the previous, love ranching in particular. Overall a nice 10 hour jaunt.

Finished up the Trails Through Horizons demo. I am happy the combat made it easier to deal with enemies on the over world and not just engage in combat. Only complaint or warning is that you will need to know what has happened in the previous games this is not an entry point.

Finished the Dragon Quest 7 demo, this is looking good. I played the DS version, love the level of options for making the game as easy or hard as you want it especially the healing after battles some of the dungeons later on got long and you didn’t have the money for medicine.

Finally finished Octopath 0, that was a longer run than I thought. Don’t be fooled this is an 80-100 hour game based on completion and you will need to do this for preparation for the true ending. Overall a great way to start off January.

Well, we end the year with over 30 games completed and hope for more ports, remakes, and indie games for 2026. Hopefully, we’ll complete more games and have fun. Happy 2026 and farewell to 2025 and the great many RPGs and racing games.

Well the most likely final game this year is Shin Megami Tensei 5 Vengeance. I played 5 original when it first came out, but this definitely fixed a lot of my complaints about the story. As always for the most part always play the second version that Atlus releases.

Well that was what I expected out of a 1990’s country trotting adventure… maybe not the Neo Templar electrocution. Odd adventure game Broken Sword shadow of the Templars but overall a good play through… just don’t think too much about the plot in the final act.

Following up beating Dragon Quest 2 with 1. This is probably the most powerful hero in the entire series just for the factor he soloed his entire game and didn’t get any help. This game is much shorter than 2 took me about 12 hours. Fun fact if you join the villain you get builders 1.

Took a break for getting 100% on Grand Bazaar to play Dragon Quest 2 remake. Love the addition of more party dialogue. I feel that we are on a quest with stakes. It as well cool to see how builders 2 connects to events. Overall a great game that took about 40 hours.

Completed the remake/reimagining of Grand Bazaar. This was one of the interesting DS Harvest Moon games, but has now been given major changes that make it modern. Hoping a New Beginning is the next to be remade as terraforming would add a cool feature.

Had a bit of a break from RPGs with Ufouria 2. If you like any of the Yoshi Craft/Wooly series this is similar, all be it way easier. This is what I would suggest for one’s first platformer more focus on the art style and writing.

Completed Suikoden 2. This was in every way a huge improvement from the first game. We got double the sound track and 3D cinema cutscenes and it only took 3 years from the first. The dice game return was not welcome, at least make it so I bet enough to play one game… sign.

Finished Suikoden 1 remastered. Great start to a series, working on the second one already. I will state that a guide is appreciated for getting 100% as there are some characters that have odd conditions (looking at you Clive). I will say this game is easier than Chrono Cross for 100%.

This is one of the most beautiful 2.5 game I’ve seen yet. Played The Adventures of Elliot demo weirdly reminiscent of Zelda the Four Swords. I look forward to more information about the game in the future.

Well that was an ending… I’m left with more questions than answers. Gravity is still your greatest enemy in this game and the prequel. I lost count of getting smacked then yeeted of the cliff to my death. I will suggest anyone interested should play the first game less yeet.

Had a fun time with DK. The one major problem is the simulation sickness… way too many effects and camera perspectives at once. Last level in particular was a struggle. Overall I would recommend this game, but if you have motion/simulation sickness tendencies like me go at it slow

Finished Lunar 2… not playing Lunar 3. Lunar 2 was had many great improvements from Lunar. The skill upgrades was fantastic still had problems with everyone clomping together in fights. Definitely found the story fantasy, Lunar had a great story too but this was more impressive.

Finished my first Switch 2 game. As someone who’s played all of the Rune Factory series, this is my second favorite and is a definite improvement from 5(too bright). This game added town building and made the combat more than just smacking bosses. Overall, great game and experience.

No the final chapter was a bit higher in difficulty compared to the rest of the game, the refights felt like they had been beefed up quite a bit. Especially phase 4 of the final boss. That was just a bullet hell at that point. I had to let the demons finish the fight while dodging.
Finished Raidou remastered. This is the best entry point into the Shin Megami Tensei. Demon fuse only involves 2 demons… not six. You don’t have to worry about a morally system affecting the ending, just 1 ending. Overall this was a great 20 hour experience.

Finally beat Hello Kitty Island Adventure…. took four months of slow work, but was worth it. This may be the best slow burn game I’ve played within the last decade. What was your best slow burn game?

Finished the first Lunar game. If you loved Star Ocean first departure R or the second story R then this game is for you. The new AI or auto battle feature helps with leveling but is only really necessary at the final dungeon and mid game. I really enjoyed the cutscenes the best.
