I think the first one told a complete story that ended very well, and trying to write a sequel was doomed to fall short, at best. And what we got was not the "at best" version. No shade if you liked it, but for me? I did not like it at all.

HZD was so much better than I was expecting. I came for the robot dinosaurs, ad I stayed because, holy crap, the story is seriously compelling. Shame about the sequel.

Wildermyth was a lot of fun for me through several plays. Then at one point I had a character meet her own granddaughter as an elder mentor figure, and that really shattered the illusion for me. Still a good game, but it lost something after that.

Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. And I had expected to like it a lot. But I expected to enjoy stompy robot battles with just enough story to have an excuse for stompy robots. I got a really good story instead.

I bought Ori and the Blind Forest, played through the intro, cried, shut it off. It's a beautiful game, but that was so not what I had signed up for that day.

Yeah, I was definitely using mods and such to speed through things at that point. So frustrating.

Yeah, I really only finished it because there were a couple of story things I wanted to see how they worked out. If I had a time machine, I would go back and just watch some YouTube videos of the ending and saved myself 80 hours.

Wrath is such a slog, I had to use mods to even get through it. I'll admit that it's at least partly because I hate the 3.PF system, but also, good lord, it's just so so long. It's freaking brutal to get through it all.

If we cut NASA's budget to zero, exactly zero dollars and zero cents of it would go to putting food on her table. It is very easy to explain this to her and point out that it's a distraction tactic. It's very easy to point her to the politicians spending that money on bombs instead of SNAP.

That money would never feed people. NASA budget cuts go to military spending and congressional pay raises only.

NASA isn't why the US doesn't have universal healthcare, or a social safety net. The US doesn't have those things because politicians with the power to provide them choose specifically not to (with varying levels of support from voters). Enthusiasm for human spaceflight doesn't drive that choice.

Huh... Today I Learned that there are apparently a whole lot of people in the #magicthegathering community who absolutely lose their shit about people playing land in the front, and it's kind of making me want to start playing again just to do that and laugh at them.
