Shoutout to whoever outside is listening to Evanescence at full blast in the rain at 11 at night. Hell of a vibe

They better fucking renew The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins
Mayor Mamdani in that screenshot looking like he wants us to bring him pages (I will absolutely drop everything to bring Mayor Mamdani whichever color pages he needs from us)
Right from the start Metro has been one of the absolute best narrative FPS series out there, and it doesn't look like they're pulling any punches with 2039
Two books sitting on a black table: Godhusk and Vermis: Old Curses and Buried Horrors Forsaken Edition
Vermis 3 and Godhusk showed up way sooner than I expected! Last time I checked the tracking they were still in Italy
I am fully of the opinion that when a corporation tries to delete a work of art from existence, it is a moral imperative to keep it in circulation.
As an aside, there's collections of just about every delisted game on the internet archive.
Sony announces Bloodborne is getting a 24fps update.
20-odd years ago lists like this were trying to convince me that Ocarina of Time was the greatest game ever made and that isn't even the best Zelda on the N64
(fake) Tom Scott video thumbnail featuring 1973's The Wicker Man. "Can this ritual bring their apples back?" I will be blocking anyone who makes an "oh god the bees" reference, that is a different movie not worthy of discussion.
"The Scottish island of Summerisle, home of the best fruit in Britain. The first thing you notice? No churches. The farmers here practice a fascinating form of pre-Christian worship…and I just learned I'll be playing the lead role in their annual May Day festival. First stop: my costume fitting."
@revrrlewis I've played over 1,000 hours of Civilization VI. Here's how Ukraine can defeat Russia. (1/47) Anthony Smith - 2h Replying to @revrrlewis one game of Civ VI and you think you're an expert????
It's a weirdly specific energy but Dark City might be the most "late 90s point and click adventure game" movie I've ever seen
Like I'm wishing it had gotten a Blade Runner-esque tie-in/adaption just so I could spend some more time in that world
"What can Democrats do?"
When the South Korean president attempted to declare martial law, South Korean lawmakers literally fought through tanks and military forces and climbed fences to get into their Parliament building to stop him.
So, you know, that.
why saying that AI is incredible followed by a series of non-loading comments because the vibe-coded site is fucking broken
I don't think I could make a joke better than this
I totally respect the mandate to make new stuff beyond just Star Wars, and you can't argue with the results. But at the same time, I can't help being sad we never got a Star Wars point and click adventure during the heyday
Quantum Break is my favorite time travel story, told with all the style, charm, and seemingly endless layers to peel back you'd expect from Remedy. And it's a damn fun guns-and-superpowers game on top
Even ten years on, "I'll come back for you"
You can actually order standardized samples of omelas kid tissue from NIST, if you need it for research purposes or just to calibrate your morally flawed utopia.
This is one of the more frustrating things about live games, among many — they’ve recalibrated player expectations toward an endless drip feed such that a complete, kickass, regular game gets incorrect or even toxic feedback.
Not every game is meant to be your job!
I'm not very keyed in to fighting games but I've been watching some folks play/talk about the Avatar fighter and I'm getting pretty hyped
Not only do people seem to be having a lot of fun with it, but it looks like the devs really understand the material. This could be the real deal
Seeing GOG credited on a Steam release is both really funny and actually kinda cool. I wonder if they're getting a cut from these sales
Either way putting additional DRM on these is fucking silly. Just get them on GOG directly
I have never clicked buy on a bundle faster
Today is a difficult day for the joke.
I have given way too much thought to how I'd reboot Condemned if I somehow ever got the chance
When the series ended, a lot of people were mad at the last book; Applegate responded with a letter that went *incredbly* hard, that showcased the respect she had for her readers.
It follows, below, in full.
This series was a joy to follow last year and it'll be a joy to rewatch again (for the third or fourth time)
The Riven segment in particular manages to perfectly sum up what makes Riven a masterpiece in a way I wouldn't have thought you could do in only a minute
Happy 20th to Oblivion

I dropped the difficulty to story and I'm having a lot more fun. The balance and pacing feels much closer to how I remember the original
Overall I really am enjoying it though. And it's addressing a lot of issues I had with 4 and 5. I could easily see it being the best of the modern games by the end, even if a lot of that is because of all the things the original got right
I just wish that didn't feel like damning with faint praise
I have Thoughts on the general balance so far, but I want to see how a lot of its decisions play out long term
Still, I'm not sure it puts its best foot forward and I can't help feeling like it's just over complicating things that were already working perfectly fine in the original
Aggravated Ghosts are harder, yes. But in practice they really just end up randomly making fights longer. And look, I *love* Fatal Frame's combat. But it has a very distinct pace and the *last* thing it needs is to drag out basic fights even more
They tip the scales from tense to frustrating fast
