It's been a week marked by sadness following the passing of Billy Campbell and Gordon Wallace. Gordon's death comes poignantly on the eve of a match between two clubs to which he gave such loyal service. I was grateful for the chance to write about him for the programme in 2020.

Very pleased to say that the updated commemorative plaque is back in the Dens Park boardroom.
All 11 players have been researched by the DFC Historical Trust.
Many thanks to Derek Gerrard and his team at Circle Signs for the donation of the plaque, it is very much appreciated.

The Trust would like to thank Dundee FC for welcoming two of our trustees to Dens Park today. The club kindly handed over a number of items to the Trust. Some of the items will require us to do some research on their origins!

OTD | 1894 | Ireland 1-2 Scotland | Solitude, Belfast
Despite just completing their first ever season Dundee provided 3 players to the Scotland team in their game against Ireland. William Longair, Alex Keillor and Francis Barrett were part of the winning team in Belfast.

On 8th March 1947, Dundee beat Alloa 10-0 at Recreation Park with Juliussen scoring a double hat trick. In their very next game Dundee beat Dunfermline by the same score line with Juliussen this time scoring seven! These remain Dundee's record victories to this day.

The Trust would like to express our sadness at Billy Pirie's passing, and that Billy's family and friends are in our thoughts. Billy's scoring exploits are still fondly remembered by those who witnessed them and looked back on in awe by those who didn't. www.dfchistoricaltrust.com/memorabilia_...

Compare and contrast: the match v Hearts in 21-22 [0-1]. The first half sky was clear and purple (no #blue-sky that evening), while the second half was a wall of fog, mercifully denying the Bobby Cox the sight of the goal.
