Sounds like national politics is fundamentally broken. Citizens United really screwed us all. Maybe I should just focus my time and efforts in my own city? Personally, “not voting for a billionaire” is a line I’m willing to draw. We each get to make that choice for ourselves.
I too would have a real hard time voting for a billionaire unless part of their platform was something like: “use my wealth to fix food insecurity in America and beyond…”

What types of peppers are you growing? I have pretty good luck with burying chicken wire about 1-2” deep in my big bed containers. At least it keeps the squirrels and alley cats from digging… not sure if it would work with rats.
