We developed a group of friends who were not going out, and who we trusted to stay safe. We had pool parties. We had park playdates. We had family get togethers (although not at the holiday).

And we also had some porch parties with other friends who had to be out for other reasons.

My edgy COVID take was that while it was scary to have a new baby born then but, I got to spend every day with my postpartum wife and baby.

I worked, and then took my 3 year old exploring on his bicycle at lunch time. Car traffic downtown was non-existent so we could ride everywhere. It was magic.
