Perched high on a cliff, it watched over the flourishing valley below. Two noble knights, known as Lunlumo the Moonlit Knight and Graeme of the House of Rando, called Nokto Keep their home and protected the residents below. Lunlumo was known for their luminous white satin tunic and cloak that was always flowing in the wind, and Graeme had a matching set in cornflower blue. As a temperamental blue-blood, Graeme earned the nickname “the Moody Blue Knight” from the locals. Lunlumo, the favorite of the community, could always calm their companion if tensions got high. Together they had a glowing reputation of honor and duty. Life for Nokto Keep and the valley below changed abruptly one day when Lunlumo the Moonlit Knight vanished, leaving only their white satin behind. The Moody Blue Knight (MBK) spent months searching for them far and wide with no luck. Confused and heartbroken, the MBK closed themselves off to the world around them. In mourning they donned Lunlumo’s white satin. Once a comfort, moonlight now torments them with fleeting memories of their life with Lunlumo. Soon the dark cloud that hung over their head took on a life of its own and spread throughout Nokto Keep. Any creature within its walls became trapped by the gathering gloom. Melancholy and time have taken their toll on this once grand manor. Much of the building has been reclaimed by the earth surrounding it. Entire sections are cut off by rock slides and collapsing walls, leaving a maze of haphazard rooms and dead end passageways.
Messing around with layout and connecting the acrylic paintings and the digital backgrounds of the pages. I'm not the biggest fan of drawing backgrounds so finding unconventional ways to create backgrounds is right up my alley. #ttrpg #knightsinwhitesatin #shadowdarkrpg #gamedesign
Researching for games can be so fun but also dangerous. You can come across crazy creatures like the pelican spider for creature design ideas or spend days looking into the weaves of different satins to make a trap design that only a fibers major would appreciate. It's a fine line we walk. #ttrpg
I tend to draw at a slight skew so trying to get 90° angles can be a bit hard sometimes. I had to tweak it so the top of the border came out just slightly closer to the page edge than the bottom corner so the tops and bottoms were straight.
