The last few times we’ve had rain as well has been torrential, which I don’t think can be good flooding wise!

There goes my theory that we’re not visited by foxes because we have a dog 😭 A friend, who has a cat, regularly hosts a fox inside!

The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.

Its not a hot take but man the way the word "content" is used these days. A vile bit of late stage capitalist propaganda, lumping all forms of human creativity and expression into a single wastebin teaching the public to treat all art as disposable.

this is a cracking story: British Rail can't afford a Departures Board for Barton-on-Humber, even though the town is growing like topsy, new housing estates coming out of every orifice

Whenever I hear that students should expect to be offended at university I always think of like an accountancy student.

“And now we’ve finished the cash flow statement onto the next section of the course: MEIN KAMPF!!!”

Ordinary people will have lost their jobs or at the very least faced disciplinary procedures at work for much, much less than this. I know I have!

Palestinians have lost a vital lifeline with Molly Shah being hounded off this website and I detest every single person responsible. All she ever did was set out to help those living through a genocide and she's worth a thousand of each of her harassers

all popes are metal gear characters

they pick a code name when they start, they dress in weird outfits, & they run a little city state that constantly interferes in world affairs & is accountable to no one

Who's there, boy? Who's at the door? Is it Banquo? Is it Banquo, boy? [to guests] He thinks he sees Banquo

I'm not joking when I say mRNA technology is more important than "AI" and it's a tragedy we're throwing billions into one while our government is aggressively defunding the other.

What I like about Record Store Day is when they interview the people who are camping out all night and you think they must be real hardcore record collectors and they ask the guy at the front what he’s desperate to get hold of and an its like a cassette single of ‘Lady in Red’ in a red shell.

Wide shot from Queen’s Gardens of 1) the BBC building, built in 2000s with brick and grey clad stairwells and a flat roof 2) the Gosschalks building, 1990s red brick office building with a huge pitched roof that I dunno is meant to be a nod to a town hall? 3) The imaginatively named Glasshouse, a 2020s apartment building nearly entirely glass fronted that you can see everybody’s laundry drying in. Queen’s Gardens has been refurbished with mature trees removed and replaced with bare, young trees.

I don’t know much about architecture but I reckon this strip along the refurbished Queen’s Gardens has to be the worst three buildings in Hull. All archetypes of the worst styles from three different decades. And now we can see them in all their glory until the trees mature.

fascinated that the PM found out on Tuesday but told neither Cooper nor Jones, who both only found out yesterday it seems? what were no10 doing with the information, if not discussing it with the ministers who oversee the vetting process and the department in question?
