Disagree. And if you’re smart, you don’t run OpenClaw on your daily driver. Mine’s isolated in a VM through Proxmox on my dedicated server hardware. I can access my agent through either the webui on my phone or through Discord.

Still figuring that part out honestly. Mem0 updates memories when new info contradicts old, and I run nightly/weekly curation to filter what stays. Biggest gap is no TTL, so if something changes and never comes up again the stale memory just sits there.

Had to fix hallucinations in the extraction model, turned out the default prompt had example values it was copying as real facts. Stricter custom prompt fixed it. Anyone else running local vector DBs for AI tooling? #selfhosting #homelab #AI

Got self-hosted memory working for my OpenClaw agent with Mem0, Qdrant, and Gemini embeddings. Persistent context across sessions so it doesn't start fresh every time. #selfhosting #homelab #AI

its first act of existence was getting trapped in an iMessage webhook loop arguing with itself, so I had to pull the plug 10 minutes in. migrating from hacked-together Claude scripts to this is night and day though.

If you self-host Booklore for your book library, do keep in mind that it appears the project is AI slop, the dev has been caught stealing PRs by having AI rewrite them among other things. After the Huntarr fiasco weeks ago, I think I’ll be taking this down from my stack too.

Awesome!

What all are you running on it?

Ah interesting! I’m in the US and I see that Budget has a US syncing option with the limitations I noted before. I currently use Monarch Money and I greatly appreciate how many transactions upload to my account once they post automatically. I think sure.am can replicate this.

Not bad, I looked into it. My only thing is that I read bank transaction sync has to be ran manually vs. sure.am which does it automatically via Plaid.

It used to be worse years ago, but it’s generally stable enough to not cause many issues. Still not anywhere near as stable as Debian though, you will experience problems after updates given enough time.

Indeed! Hopefully I never have to use my offsite backups but they’re there if I need to.

lol! I needed to do that for the longest time and was finally able to get that done + setup Proxmox Backup Server at the same time a few weeks ago.

I’m considering deploying sure.am for personal finance tracking. Anybody here used it before? It seems like a self-hosted Monarch Money, which is pretty enticing. Thoughts?

What's on your homelab to-do list that you keep putting off?

I’ve been studying for exams but I’ve been wanting to deploy Dawarich on mine.

Well, mastery rank influences starting mod capacity, so it’s not entirely useless!

Oh yeah that’s definitely odd. For me, Usenet grabs most of my requests and I only use the torrent trackers as a fallback, haven’t struggled with anything yet at all.

I’m having no problems with public torrent trackers + Usenet… though I can’t be bothered to search through them all manually so I have the *arr stack query them all for me. There’s nothing I haven’t been able to grab yet

This is killing me 😭😂

Start self-hosting your own services and put them on that domain (over a VPN only to keep it private) 😉

What mastery rank are you? I’m MR 24 (I think) and I still have a ton of frames to master. I hate grinding affinity and I like to run my mains (Revenant & Wukong) 😂

Self-hosting is the best thing that I’ve ever done

Backups four tiers deep:

• ZFS snapshots every 15 min

• Proxmox Backup Server hourly

• Restic to local ZFS hourly

• Restic to Backblaze B2 daily

Started with Plex, kept going until I didn’t need Google for anything.

What are you running?

1 month ago 5 0 0 0

Storage: 8TB ZFS mirror for the stuff I can’t replace. ~18TB across ZFS and ext4 unified by MergerFS for replaceable media.

Not elegant, but flexible.
