i think it’s bad that the president is an openly racist piece of shit and i think aides who post racist screeds on his behalf are even worse (trump would not use “warped and pervasive policies”)

Trump didn't "start" a "bare-knuckled fight." He ordered Texas' Gov. Greg Abbott to cheat; to do an unprecedented mid-decade gerrymander, because, in his words -- "We are entitled to five more seats.”

This put Democrats in an impossible situation. Either play by the rules and lose, or cheat back.

The risk of the latter was precisely this: Supposed "liberal media," especially the Times, would bothsides the situation and castigate them and their voters for hypocrisy and bad governance.

The risk of the former was letting a president openly steal an election and consolidate power for good.

Data centres uses 32% of Ireland's total electricity supply but pay almost less than half of the residential rate. So we're effectively subsidizing tech giants during a cost of living & energy crisis. Meanwhile this Govt continues to cheerlead their expansion & continue to fail in their obligations.
