Many prefer revisionist history because for them facing the full truth is "corrosive". Actively revising the telling of history--not the reality of it--while simultaneously actively reproducing aspects of the worst of it in real time is a long-term US project & shame.

Our paper is out! We found out that there are seasonal changes in shallow sediments which potentially upends any study that has interpreted them as a static environment. Including my own papers.

I tried to explain this to a reporter today. When you are constantly under threat of budget cuts or have actual budget cuts, shit gets efficient real quick because it is that or cease to exist.
