Step 0, Prep, remove covers, cushions, feetsies, and make sure the reciprocating saw blade is plenty big enough to get in there & rated to handle the occasional nail, just in case. The picture is a couch lying on its back with a reciprocating saw on it.
First arm removed from the couch, it's having a little lie down. It's been on its feet for decades...
Structurally, both the second arm and back are removed here, but the couch fabric hasn't accepted what's coming yet.
Only 2 tools required, a reciprocating saw & a utility knife, though I did also use pliers to peel back the upholstery as there are nails every inch or so... The picture has both arms, the couch back, and the seat, taking a little nappy nap separately. My cheap-ass reciprocating saw is lying on the couch seat & the utility knife sits on the coffee table.
Easy 3 step method of removing a couch. Step 0 is, of course, prep. 1) Pick an arm, make it have a little lie down. 2) Sleepy time for the other arm. 3) Back rest joins in on the fun. Now you don't have to worry about any doors or corners. Some assembly required if you want to use it again...

Yesterday the VA gave me hearing aids to help treat my tinnitus using "notch therapy" where they slightly boosts everything *except* the frequencies my brain interprets the tinnitus to be (layman explanation, I'm not an audiologist). But now I feel like I'm talking awkwardly loud...
