Jesus does not ask you to clean yourself up before you come.

He says come tired.
Come burdened.
Come as you are.

He is gentle and humble in heart.

Worthy Person “Do not get any gold or silver or copper to take with you in your belts — no bag for the journey or extra shirt or sandals or a staff, for the worker is worth his keep.

Jesus sent His disciples out with no gold, no bag, no backup

Just the message

Sometimes God removes the backup plan so we discover He was always the plan

Travel light.
Carry peace.
And when a door stays closed—shake the dust off and keep moving.

Doctor On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

Jesus saw Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth and said:

“Follow me.”

Not after you clean yourself up.
Not after you prove yourself.

Now.

He came for the sick, not the healthy.

That changes everything.

Good Gifts If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

We ask quietly.
We seek briefly.
We knock once and assume the answer is no.

But Jesus says:

“Ask… seek… knock…”

Because the Father on the other side of the door gives good gifts.

Maybe we have been underestimating His generosity.

The Beatitudes Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The world says blessed are the strong, successful, and self-sufficient.

Jesus says blessed are the poor in spirit, the mourners, the meek, and the hungry.

The kingdom has always worked upside down.

And maybe that is good news for us to realize.

Before Jesus preached a sermon, healed anyone, or performed a miracle, the Father said:

“This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Beloved before the work began.

That changes everything.

Every promise had been leading somewhere.

To a baby.
To a name.
To “Immanuel” — God with us.

And Joseph’s response?

“He woke up and did what the Lord had commanded him.”

Remembrance Scroll Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard. A scroll of remembrance was written in his presence concerning those who feared the Lord and honored his name.

God is not only paying attention to the big moments.

He sees the quiet faithfulness too.

The conversations. The prayers. The days you show up.

We don’t know when. We’re not meant to.

But this promise changes everything:

Grow Well The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew.

After enough disappointment, you stop expecting much.

But God says:
“The seed will grow well… the vine will yield its fruit.”

Not partial restoration. The full thing.

And this:
“I have determined to do good.”

If God is still speaking—
it’s not too late.

Use the “before.”

Not because life is easy—

Not denial—defiance.

“The Lord will be my light.”

And even after failure—
He pleads your case.

This isn’t the end.

You will rise.

Some seasons are defined by one word:

Some seasons feel like waiting… “until.”

But it’s not forever.

“He will be our peace.”

Not after the storm—
in it.

Peace isn’t a circumstance.
It’s a person.

And He’s with you now.

Stop Doubting Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”

Thomas doubted.
Jesus showed up.

No shame. Just presence.

“My Lord and my God.”

“Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

That’s us.

He is risen—and still meets us where we are.🤍

and sat in the dust.

That’s what real repentance looks like.

“Who knows? God may yet relent…”

Not certainty.
Trust.

And when they truly turned—
God showed mercy.

It’s not too late to turn.

Good Friday is the day it looked like the end.

Jonah sank to “the roots of the mountains”…
Jesus went to the cross.

Down into darkness.

But—
“YOU brought my life up from the pit.”

That’s the pattern.

The pit isn’t final.
Sunday is coming.
