Dr Ramon Amaro is appointed the new Creative Director of Design Academy Eindhoven.
As of 1 September, he will succeed Joseph Grima, who held the position from 2017 to 2025. Amaro will work closely alongside Raf De Keninck, who will become DAE’s General Director and Chair.
DAE would like to congratulate our newest group of MA Graduates! In June, we hosted the MA Grad Ceremony, where 78 MA students were officially welcomed as graduates of DAE.

In this talk, Agustina will unpack the invisible forces regulating our environments and share how practitioners can intervene, disrupt, and build alternative systems of value, resource management, and information distribution.
Agustina’s work investigates the hidden systems and infrastructures that shape our world — from water networks and currency to radio waves and public space. Through poetic interventions and experimental infrastructures, she exposes the politics and art and design can be tools for reimagining them.

Through these events, we continues challenging conventional design practices, with a critical discourse, and pushing the boundaries of material experimentation and social innovation.
Each session provides an opportunity for audience engagement, encouraging discussions on how design can drive innovation and systemic change.
- Political Bodies (April 10): Discussing how design can challenge societal biases and reframe social rituals, with speakers Studio Folder, Marco Ferrari, Miriam Daxl, and Gabriel Fontana.
- Planetary Agency (April 9): Examining design’s role in planetary systems and the potential of experimental practices, with contributions from Daniel van der Velden (Metahaven), Anna Favaretto and Max Fraser.
- Cultural Ecology (April 8): Investigating whether sustainability is possible without disrupting economic structures, featuring a keynote by Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart and insights from joseph grima and Martina Muzi.
- Material Culture (April 7): Exploring the ethics of material use in a world of scarcity and inequality. Speakers include Afaina de Jong, Dace Sūna, and Sade Linda Ekwedike.
This series of discussions invites designers, researchers, and curators to examine whether the design industry is trapped in repetitive cycles or evolving towards meaningful change. Moderated by Ilse Meulendijks, Head of the MA program at DAE, the discussions are structured around four themes:
