you do not want to be *in* the scene. it’s better to be scene-adjacent. exist at the edge of a few scenes, and perhaps even, find a friend group that dabbles in all of the ones you like but isn’t attached to any of them. indeed, the friend group is of a much higher aspiration than any scene
