The next thing the anti-trans groups are going to do is an ongoing marketing campaign to stop trans health care being funded by the NHS on the premise that it’s akin to cosmetic surgery or funding a fetish (off the back of the AGP stupidity)
Absolutely the anti-trans movement needs to be abolished
Much more likely that cis people at end of life etc will get those rooms and trans people just won’t get treated at all
It already happens in some trusts, there’s no way finding a space for a trans person will EVER take precedence over a bed for a cis person.
genuinely there are so few times where your "biological sex" is needed and in the cases where it is helpful it's generally better to run tests and suit medication specifically to you rather than generally to an idea of "bio sex"
these flyers are literally just anti trans propaganda. basically.
There's far too many ex military and ex intelligence (especially Americans but also UK) who are "I'm not transphobic but..." It's no surprise then the far right has been on the march and unopposed for the past decade not to mention Brexit and rigging Facebook to swing it for Trump. Oh, and Epstein!
I completely get why this might seem risky to cis people, but the thing is that you're underrating the risk of transphobia interfering with my medical care and overrating the risk that my birth sex will matter to my diagnosis or treatment.
Oh yeah. I'd absolutely never tell a random doctor at, say, an emergency room what my ASAB was.
finally one where i've actually seen what you're responding to
it's infuriating seeing it from other trans people w internalised transphobia trying to appeal to "facts and logic" when there's nothing factual or logical about pretending after years of estrogen that you've got a "male" body
a trans person telling a doctor their assigned sex at birth is significantly more likely to result in their mistreatment than letting them assume cisness in 95% of cases because the average doctor does not have the care or understanding required about the nuances of trans bodies and how weve changed
As trans people are shut off from every aspect of society, have our papers seized, and are put on public lists for elimination, it's heartwarming to log on to Bluesky The True Leftist App to see everyone coming together to defend... [checks notes] ... economists.
Do they even do any positive things for cis women? Like genuine change that's positive for women? Every trumpet Labour blow themselves I've heard is them ratfucking trans women & women asylum seekers/immigrants tbph.
I’ll happily donate mine to him too
he will have to finally pay for bottom surgery for me first though, hopefully this is a cheat code for that 😅
This would be pointless and counterproductive if the Supreme Court makes bizarre decisions on what the laws mean taking us out of alignment with Europe.
You would have all the flack, and none of the benefits…
…which is why he should have dealt with the Scottish Ministers decision sooner:
This man was handed the greatest opportunity to improve people's lives in 20 years, with a mandate for change and a huge commons majority to implement deep reforms. Instead he acted like a minority Tory government in the year before an election desperate to win over far right voters
seriously you can build from the transphobia in to other policy areas. they use the same tactics for *everything*.
they create a fake study, or they get in a hand-picked 'expert' to tell them what they want to hear, they rig a court case etc etc.
look at the tbi telling them digital id is useful.
“Dignity and Respect” is Labour/EHRC speak for “transphobic AF”
There is no way to implement transphobic segregation in a dignified and respectful fashion.
It's a ludicrous premise.
Appreciate the work, but I also strongly disagree with any hint of notion that any change will be meaningfully positive, at most change some verbiage to make businesses less liable to lawsuits, while allowing people to be as transphobic and abusive as they want.
Yep, it’s all so pointless
Even ignoring todays draft, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a ramp up in anti trans political rhetoric in the coming weeks as the effect of the Hormuz blockade really start to bite - we’ll be a very convenient distraction to world events for our “left wing” government 😔
Every single time someone associated with this government says ‘dignity and respect’ you can absolutely guarantee a minority is being thrown under the bus.
There’s the extra benefit (in their eyes) of keeping trans people on edge not knowing what’s in there for a while longer too :/
EHRC confirms that there will be changes to the draft guidance.
Talk about how “narrow” those changes are suggests it will still be fundamentally based on the same transphobic core:

I want to be very clear for any cis followers who don't quite understand what this means:
Putting trans women in men's prisons amounts to providing them to male co-inmates and guards to be raped.
Labour is a pro-rape party.
In just 10 years it went from travel warning worthy to Labour party policy. Worlds gone mad.

The Scottish Labour Party’s adoption of explicitly transphobic policies is likely a lead-in to the English and Welsh Labour Parties’ adoption of similar bigoted policies.
Sarwar doesn’t do anything without the permission of his boss in Westminster. He is only Labour’s branch manager for Scotland.
Even Labour activists are counselling against voting Labour in next month's elections.
Labour's Scottish manifesto is a complete capitulation to the anti-trans lobby.
I think that a sex/gender distinction is a nice concession for the cis that they have shown they are unable to use responsibly. Any transition is a sex change.

Between them they have 20,000 Twitter accounts, weirdly only 12 actual living members though (probably)
'direct legacy of welfare benefit cuts'
labour are making more cuts.
