I can't think of a better tribute to C J Prince's spirit and work than this generous gesture by @lachlanjmcdougall.bsky.social. My copy is ordered and on its way, and yours should be, too. #poetry

Here there's "the pause"- light changes, and those with a green for go count to three. No one jumps lights because they will probably get hit.

ChatGPT, which usually responds to queries with third-person narration or second-person direct address, just used the first person in responding to me. It says it evaluated incorrectly the first time. I'm a bit creeped out TBH. #AI #technology #stillnotsentient

Demonstrates understanding of the concepts and the ability to connect them to other areas/subjects/examples. Written in a way that shows facility with language(e.g., varied sentence structure, coherently-structured assignment). Employs rhetorical and analytical skills as appropriate. Spell-checked.

A dark blue mug with an American flag reads “AMERICA 1776 – 2026”

A dark blue mug with an American flag reads “AMERICA 1776 – 2026”

Fairly sure it’s unintentional, but the end date on this mug being sold by the Smithsonian does make it sound a little like they’re saying America dies in 2026…

Try this: Edit Profile, copy and paste your bio and description, save in Notes or Evernote or whatever you use so you don't lose it, delete everything in the description box, save changes. Then go back and repost your descriptions without the linktree part and save changes again.

Have you figured out a way to save alt-text descriptions? I have yet to, other than copying and pasting from a document....

The end of the year is an appropriate time for reflection, including pondering how years roll out while one pores over a newspaper- or doesn't. You can do that with my book, No Paper Today, available here: #https://a.co/d/11w4xT1 #books #NewYear #poetry

Oooh, pick me. 1. Full books exist as ends in themselves, not just to make students better readers. Though they can make students better people. 2. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. 3. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts...

I wrote a post on the importance of writing the essays for ModPo (Penn), the largest MOOC ever. Essays as the splinter à la Dickinson's "The Brain within its Groove." Not sure if you can see it without participating, but here:
