a chart showing forecasts vs actuals for fossil fuel investment in Norway
2026 will almost certainly be another year in which we here in Norway spend WAY more than the gov't forecasts we'll spend on building more fossil fuel infrastructure
This is not healthy at all. It smacks of unplanned desperation, I think.

"The havoc unleashed by a super El Niño will coincide with the havoc unleashed by Trump in the Gulf to produce a perfect storm of support for ... getting off fossil fuels. Our brief vacation from thinking about climate change ... will be over."

In the Netherlands, the popular Efteling theme park â known, among other things, for its Fairytale Forest â is ending unlimited parking for season ticket holders with immediate effect. Instead, it is rewarding visitors who come by bike or bus.
France is making Sweden look like a fossil dinosaur.
(The Swedish government has just agreed to short-term VAT cuts on petrol, and is seeking approval from the EU to cut fuel taxes further, to below the mandated EU minimum.)

Thatâs one hell of a beating
Chinese diplomats from Tokyo to Astana are going to be walking around with copies of this.
"We've had our differences, but you know who wouldn't absolutely fuck over your economy for no clear reason, having given you no warning to so much as stockpile... and then gloat about it?"
400 dead so far, over 1000 injured, dozens and dozens missing. This is one hour into the massacre. I have no idea what the death toll will be in the end. Also, they have announced âanother waveâ of attacks coming
"if a laptop manufacturer knows the Pentagon buys their laptops, they can declare that line exempt. If a networking company sells a $20 switch to a federal building, they can claim that hardware is critical infrastructure. Itâs a blank check for manufacturers to exempt themselves"

Healthy society.
In March 2026, EV sales in Germany increased by 66.2% compared to the previous year. This was probably mostly due to the reintroduced EV purchase grant (the sudden cessation of the programme had led to a halt in the growth trend).
"Turkey has given the green light to more batteries to buffer its electricity grid than any EU member state, a report has found, in a further sign of rich countries losing steam in the race to a clean economy."

An unhinged man who has access to nuclear weapons threatening the imminent death of 90 million people is not a distraction.
Washington Post Trump warns âa whole civilization will dieâ if Iran doesnât make a deal The president had issued a deadline of 8 p.m. Eastern time for Iran to open up the Strait of Hormuz, pledging destruction by midnight if leaders donât comply. April 7, 2026 at 9:22 a.m. EDT26 minutes ago 2 min
Completely unstable and perilous. The House must bring up impeachment articles, and the Senate needs to remove a president who wants to commit war crimes. We cannot sit idly by as Donald Trump threatens to end an entire civilization.
Om det existerar en svensk opposition vÀrd namnet sÄ Àr det hög tid att agera. Typ nu.
We're on the verge of a genocidal, nuclear war that our supposed "ally" has said he's ready to unleash.
Would it be too much to ask for the Prime Minister to have something to say about it? Or do?
Suspend US bases on UK soil now.
It's now been 3 hours since our supposed "ally" Donald Trump threatened genocide on a country of 93 million people.
We've had absolutely nothing from the UK government.
This doesn't come in a vacuum either - every day the US & Israel have been murdering innocent people.
"Oil and gas companies including Norwayâs Equinor and a lobby group backed by Shell, TotalEnergies and ConocoPhillips have called for the EU to drop an effective ban on future drilling in the Arctic."

Keir Starmer utterly silent on the war crimes that are happening.
He'll drone on about a special relationship but nothing to say on war crimes in Iran, Lebanon, Palestine.
Trump and Netanyahu able to behave like we have law of the jungle.
Johnston, co-lead editor of the Review of International Political Economy (RIPE), a journal published by the UK-based Taylor & Francis, says that she rejected 25% of some 100 submissions in January âbecause of fake referencesâ.
As of January, one out of four RIPE submissions are slop. Which the editor in chief tries to weed out manually. đ€Żđ€Żđ€Ż

NEW: air permit applications for a data center being built with investment from google shows it would rely on a natural gas power plant that emits more than 4.5 million tons of greenhouse gasses each year
google has publicly touted its commitment to renewables but appears to be privately eyeing gas
Puerto Ricans were set to receive $1 billion worth of solar+battery systems under a program established by the Biden administration -- desperately needed on an island with a run-down grid, battered by severe weather.
Trump axed it. Only 6,000 of 40,000 planned systems were installed.
