I swear he says, “YEAH.”

It’s also making me miss audio dramas. I am grateful that podcasting remains a part of my life, but I really miss scoring and creating soundscapes. I miss storytelling through sound.
And like, it’s really good (I feel like I can say this, because I don’t remember it, so it’s relatively objective?). It’s well researched, well structured, good insights and practical tips, and it’s FUN. I clearly put a lot of time and effort into it.
???
Im the depths of my files, I just found a really excellent PowerPoint presentation about writing and audio editing for podcasts, and I have no idea when I made it or for whom.
It is NOT my grad school presentation, although it clearly builds on it.

Hello from under my rock:
CBC: And it'll be an early start for many Canadians on Sunday!
Me: Oh god is it daylight savings time already.
CBC: When Team Canada plays its gold medal match!
🤦
A decade of Guinness feels surreal, but here we are.
Many more happy returns, buddy. 💖

Dude.
Goodnight from Till Leyland, secretly hoping she will dream of a girl instead of a husband after midnight barley sowing for St. Agnes’ Eve. Goodnight from Edward Haverton, ensuring his home’s door to a room where it is always 1898 is definitely triple-locked. Goodnight from Hookland.
I thought I was very clever assigning my principal and an important client highly distinctive text tones so that I can respond to them quickly.
And indeed, it works really well, as I just discovered when they both texted within 30 seconds of each other. 😂
In the ruined turbine hall of a DTEK power station, shattered by russian attacks, a choir sings Shchedryk.
Truly, a performance worth a million words 💔
This cat has such a caretaking streak. Best boy. 😭
Broken with a migraine, but Nurse Guinness is applying cuddle and purr therapy.
This happened on *my* way home! Perhaps a letter to the local councillor and/or MPP is in order. I'm worried someone will get hurt or worse.
I swear I didn’t see drivers running reds with such regularity or indifference pre-2020. I also didn’t see dogs regularly being walked off-leash through residential neighbourhoods, but that’s a separate rant.
Just today, I saw a driver blithely run a red light and nearly hit a ~10-year-old child.
“Yo, I nearly got run over, bro!!!”
At least the driver lifted two fingers from the wheel in acknowledgement. 🙄
But I can send you the recipe if you want, in case you come across a single can or bottle!
Hmm…in Ontario, it’s mostly sold in cans, which you can buy in packs or individually. ”Tallboys” are very common (473 mL) but there are sometimes little 355 mL cans.
I didn’t drink beer when I lived in NZ, so I didn’t pay attention to what’s available there. 🙁
(cont’d)
Oooh, I have a recipe that calls for 355 mL! So you could use either a little can or bottle, or you’d only have to save 150 mL or so from a pint to cook something else (stew, chili, beer battered fish, baked beans with beer…)
Sad news: the beer I was excited to try is too sweet and I can’t drink it
Good news: I bet it would make really nice beer bread
Onwards, upwards, forwards, throughwards, northwards, homewards…
Or at least, as “off” as I ever am.
One more BIG week.
One frantic tie-off-the-loose-ends week after that.
And then I have a truly significant amount of time off.
**thud**
I don’t understand his obsession, but it’s tradition now.
A great thing about having a chatty cat is that I can say things like, “It’s snowing,” and he’ll solemnly answer, “Mep MEP.”
Mmm, hallucinogenic nutmeg.
I need to hear this.
I will make her Cookies That Bring Joy.
(Coincidentally, I *just* returned a book of her writings to the library.)
An old and very excellent man indeed. 💖
Screncap from Twitter from Rob Flack reading in part: "Our government is not proceeding with consultations on potential changes to Ontario’s tenancy lease framework regarding month-to-month leases. We will continue to implement other common-sense reforms to strengthen the province’s rental housing market. Full statement below:"
The Ontario government reverses course and announces today it won't scrap rent control, after proposing the change on Thursday.
Many tenants voiced anger at the government and tenant groups vowed they would put up a strong fight.
