Some drawings from a figure drawing activity I joined yesterday at dialogphx. First time being an artist instead of a model, it was fun!

I’ve had an amazing time the last few weeks teaching my first long form printmaking class. So far we’ve covered linocut and collagraph as we get comfortable with the basics of printmaking. I’m super excited for today as we begin our final unit (and my personal favorite) intaglio!

Actually did my demo today for the class! Pochoir pigeon three ways: stamp pads, Cranfield Caligo ink, and acrylic paint. I used a combination of makeup sponges and various paint brushes to apply the different inks/paint.

A watercolor painting of two stocky men bathing in a sento. A painting of Mount Fuji is on the wall in the background.

A sento scene I made for a bear pride festival. It was unfortunately rejected for exhibition, but I’m still very happy with how the details like the water and body hair turned out!

Some hand-drawn sketches that I colored digitally for a project proposal. I was inspired by the changing biomes as you drive North through Arizona.

I’ve been working on some sketches for a traffic box vinyl wrap, I’m really excited to see this once I transfer it to linocut!

Hi 🖤 I would love love love to find a better platform than instagram for social media and I’m excited to give this a try! I’m currently traveling in India - maybe I’ll post some of my travel photos on here when I get back home.

In the meantime, here’s some flash I drew before I left LA :)

Much of Taroko Gorge is now closed after the earthquake in 2024. This piece has new meaning for me now, and I hope that the environment and the people who inhabit and depend on it can recover in the coming years. 加油!

During my trip to Taroko Gorge, I was amazed by the beautiful rock formations and blue waters. I wanted to capture the natural scenery using ink painting techniques as traveling artist did throughout Chinese history. The subjects were based off a photo I took on film during my visit.

Remembering my first time trying letterpress printing at In Cahoots!

I took excerpts from personal ads in editions of BEAR magazine I bought at @autoeroticasf.bsky.social Some were funny, some were tender, some were sad. It was so interesting to read through these little pieces of gay history.

前院雕塑藏品, 2024

Every day when I’d walk from MRT Gongguan Station to my internship, I would pass this house that had hundreds of statues and figurines that covered the entire front yard. I loved how eclectic it was and had to capture it.

羅斯福公車, 2024

My first piece I made in Taiwan after a long period of artist block. I was riding the Roosevelt bus every day to and from my internship and wanted to capture the experience. Featuring the seemingly always-in-a-bad-mood bus driver I often had.

Some wips from my time at In Cahoots Residency! Was working a lot with photos from my time in Taiwan and ideas of urban decay and development. Hoping to get some more etches on these plates once we get the intaglio studio set back up at work!
