I'd need a very long cable then.

And people who live in flats with nowhere to plug in...
You might think that there was someone at the BBC who could tell that this, though important, is not a 5th Century Church.

Presumably there will be big demonstrations on the streets of America this weekend, led by the leader of the opposition...
As my wife and I were deciding to return to Christianity via the Episcopal Church, I was warned by several that the EC had given up on scripture and did not read the Bible anymore. My friends, we are never not reading the Bible. Singing it too. So much Bible. Bible all the time.
Ken was an amazing figure. I used to live near him in the East End of London.

Hi, on this #TDOV, I’m Rachel … the first out trans priest in a senior role in the Church of England. I am also a writer, award-winning poet and theologian, and a broadcaster. Being trans is great, ordinary, and frankly not the most interesting thing about me. I love being me! #TransDayOfVisibility
If you wish to pray for peace and for the peoples of the Middle East there are resources here: www.scotland.anglican.org/day-of-praye...
I'm using some of this prayers as this day turns to night.
Today is the Transgender Day of Visibility. Trans folk are part of St Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow. Although like most institutions we have much to learn, I hope St Mary's can continue to be a place of welcome. Also visible to me is the relentless oppression of trans people in the media and daily life.
This being Transgender Day of Visibility, I would like to note for the benefit of those Anglicans who unaccountably not encountered his work, @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social is a fine poet and many of his poems are good Holy Week reading.
Here's @pinknews.bsky.social completely misunderstanding the church. The new Archbishop supported the LLF process which sought to bring about faux blessings to prevent equal marriage. There isn't a shred of evidence she is in favour of equality.
I dislike the bickering they create. Everyone seems to know how exactly how Jesus commanded the Chrism Mass to be.
I do think that the modern fantasies that medieval priests all went to their cathedrals for the chrism and that 'everyone went to their mother church' on Lent 4 are roughly equivalent and seem to discount the transport issues of doing so.
You can still beat today's deadline for sending your support for the inclusion of *Bathing in Victorian Turkish Baths* in Unesco's Inventories of Living Heritage in the UK livingheritage.unesco.org.uk. Someone asked me to share the notice that we put in our service sheets relating to antisemitism. I've put it on my blog here:

I love it and read as part of a homily this evening.
Here's my sermon about dating apps and how we choose lovers and leaders.

Goldfinches!
Tried to bless the otters for St Cuthbert's Day but ended up blessing the swans as they were building a nest. (It begins again). Saw a dipper as well as the usual suspects. Heard wren, blackbird, song thrush and lovely goldfishes.
And an inflexible constitution
What nonsense. Those opposed to Trumpism still have no leader and no policy other than not being him. (A policy that didn't seem to win elections).
Someone once tried to persuade me that the whole homoousios homoiousios controversy may have been a consequence of Athanasius having a particularly bad set of dentures.
This, along with my belief that until we live in a society where disabled people are truly valued and given a voice we will never be safe, is also my primary reason for opposing a change in the law on assisted dying.
I’m very much opposed to this legislation because of the “detail” and consequences not because of my faith! In my experience increasingly many who previously supported it have changed their mind and @thurible.net articulates why really well here!
Never mind Friday the 13th, it seems to be November the 133th here in Glasgow...
The Shish Mahal in Park Road, Glasgow. I ate there on Tuesday.
Chicken tikka masala is a Scottish invention. Perhaps not appropriate for English bank notes.
Oh that's a bad thing.
I bought the shin in Partick Morrisons. Soz.
