I’m off to Vienna as a visiting researcher for a couple of weeks 😊
I’m really excited about it! It’s hard to get to do this sort of thing when you have little kids, so I’m really happy that I managed to get enough of my ducks in a row to be able to go and chat about research on time and gender 📚

I wrote an entry on ‘Equality and inequality in public policy’ for the Springer Encyclopedia of Public Policy 📚 👇🏼
It was a fun new exercise for me, trying to strip something back to its most basic and defining components 😊

We (@karlemilbendtsen.bsky.social) are re-building the field of Public Administration from the ground up!
Well, okay, we built a website with a table of papers.
The Archive of PA outside PA is a living archive of PA research published outside PA journals.

Denmark climbs the representational ladder worldwide, rising from 17th to 8th rank. The results of the Danish national election show that 86 women were elected, a record of 48 % women MPs. There are still many gendered challenges in parliament, but what a result! #dkpol #fv26
Because the life of an academic in late-stage capitalism is fully of fun and spicy little contradictions, I spent the day in a state of absolute panic writing a very overdue syllabus for a class on time which is all about how we’re governed and disciplined by crisis and urgency.
So happy to see this out! Great job and great paper!! 📄 👏🏼🤩
We got a paper in @pspolisci.bsky.social l on public administration beyond public administration journals

How is the gender-generation gap changing in Australian politics?
Intifar Sadiq Chowdhury finds younger Australians are shifting left overall, with women moving left faster than men. Economic insecurity helps explain the gap.

mom can you pick me up at the strait of hormuz, my friends are laughing at me and wont help
"I love that John is a cockroach. Did you know he’s the only insect that can hiss? Yeah, I didn’t think so. Not that you even care, but he has modified abdominal spiracles that make him sound like a vertebrate and give him a vibrato that his choir professor called 'hauntingly asthmatic.'"
You know how they say madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result? Well, à propos nothing, my kids requested lasagne tonight, which I naturally then made, and which they then predictably hated and refused to eat.

Submitted an article with my sister (PhD in psych). The fun part is that we spell our surnames differently 🥸
I’ve kept the OG Americanised version while she has had to compromise on a variant that doesn’t upset the delicate French bureaucracy.
