The Story podcast about AI fears is worth a listen, following the news of Open AI researcher Zoe Hitzig’s resignation over concerns about advertising on the platform. Good interview from Manveen Rana, with thoughts from @mpsellman.bsky.social

Enjoy the quality time together...
Thought I would at least try and hear Farage out. My God it’s a hard listen. Even worse than I expected.
Half way through the Nigel Farage interview on Political Thinking.
Sadly, it’s the softest of interviews from Nick Robinson. Farage is left unchallenged with his obfuscation, dog whistling and lack of hard numbers to back up his points.
Worryingly, I can see why people listen to him…
Of these, I like Cave Dave best. Looking forward to seeing what’s next
As an #Evercade fan, great to see a double-page spread in @retrogamermag.bsky.social this month.
Wasn’t so sure about the lukewarm reception to NeoGeo 2, but lots of cart goodness celebrated. As @retrogamerdaz.bsky.social says, the carts still offer brilliant value for money.
Spoke to the old man on the phone just now, asked what he wanted for Christmas.
“Oh nothing really…. Actually, there is something. I could really do with some diabetic soft top socks.”
Nothing says Christmas more than diabetic soft top socks.
Who said the magic of Christmas isn’t still alive?
Shameful FIFA
Evercade EXP gaming console with Tate grip And Toaplan cartridge
Finally gave in and bought the TATE grip for my @evercade.co.uk EXP. £18 for plastic handles felt daft, but it completely transforms the vertical games.
Started with Toaplan 3 on Crazy Burger’s recommendation. Not a huge shmup fan but liking it so far.
What’s next?
Proper chills watching the Stranger Things Season 5 trailer, with Queen’s Who Wants to Live Forever 🎵
Will be a Kate Bush moment for Queen, not that they need it.

Saw the Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere last night. Kept away from reviews before, which I'm glad I did. Well worth seeing as a lifetime fan. Jeremy Allen White pulls it off as the Boss, and Stephen Graham was brilliant, as always, as his old man. Go see it.
New full size Amiga 1200 recreation to be launched next year 🎉
There have been so many hardware releases this year, from Spectrum Next to the special edition 64 - but this is the one I’ve been looking forward to.

Currently, Duke Nukem and Roguecraft, though Codemasters is never far away either.
Got a poll running on LinkedIn, with a brief write up. Curious how people would respond if they heard of a similar glitch today www.linkedin.com/posts/philsz...
Just finished binging Coining It, the podcast about self-styled bitcoin Robin Hood, James Parker.
@lewisgoodall.com does a brilliant job on the narration and intereviews and is pretty sensitive to all the guests, without punching down or judging.

This might be the most important podcast listen for anyone in the PR industry this week. @prweekuk.bsky.social tackle the rise of antisemitism - featuring agency leaders Mandy Sharp, David Fraser and Barry Frankfurt.

Shouting at you for your supposed views - in the interest of free speech, I would imagine!?
People are weird and nasty on social media. Block and forget. Was this on X or Bluesky?
MTV to stop broadcasting music videos in the UK 😢
Fond memories of watching the likes of Oasis, Alanis Morissette, The Cranberries, Spice Girls and the Smashing Pumpkins - not all bands I necessarily loved - playing on repeat on our rented telly in our uni house.

How can it be 30 years since Pulp’s Different Class came out?
Forget Oasis vs Blur, Pulp - and this album, in particular - were always my favourite.
This Radio 2 Class of 95 is worth a listen.

Likewise. I have no intel, but it’s got to be a possibility, right?
My side-hustle / hobby podcast is conversations with people who are bringing old-school video games back.
The latest interview is with two of the heads of Blaze Entertainment, the company behind cartridge-based system, @evercade.co.uk

Mother's Day advert from Open Table
If I have to watch this Mother's Day ad from Open Table one more time, I might have to take a frying pan to my phone 🤯 Reckon I get served it around 10x a day on YouTube. Enough already 🍳

Bruce Daisley: "The way that societal norms are destroyed in states moving from democracy are often not by government edicts but by voluntary obedience. Here’s Google showing some pretty extraordinary voluntary obedience. Remembering the Holocaust isn’t some annoying act of the wokerati. With the actions of Kanye, Musk and, yes, Netanyahu it seems never more relevant to remind ourselves of what we promised to never do again."
Just saw this from @brucedaisley.com on LinkedIn. Can't express this any better. Google just stepping into line like so many others.
