I thought this point Eric made about how libraries are early introductions to a social contract was really interesting, too:

A short-row heel defeated me on my first sock attempt. This time worked significantly better!
An in-progress knitted sock on bamboo double-point needles, striped in two shades each of blue and green, with a white cuff and heel. The heel has just been finished.
#WIPwednesday: sock pair the second
A cross stitch on orange aida of an enormous black cat stretching playfully in front of a teal skyscraper. The cross stitch is framed by various electric chips and other components.
The stitched version! This is "Skyline Stretch", a new pattern release!

One thing you will never think after reading a great book or listening to a great album or seeing a great piece of art is, “I’m really glad this person remained cautious while they were making this and guarded against being perceived as weird.”
Your regularly scheduled knitting resumes.
A tiger swallowtail butterfly is subbing itself on a sagebrush stalk, backlit showing the translucency of its wings.
Spent the weekend tidying up and reorganizing my living space and Going Outside. Made foraged deadnettle pesto (soooo good) and took a break from Doing Art - though, I did pick up a bunch of broken glass that I might end up doing something neat with. And photographed a butterfly.
A colorful stylized fish (modeled after Palestinian silver pendants) swimming in turquoise water and looking at a bright pink anemone. Around the fish are bubbles filled with colorful stars.

I’m holding up a partially-completed cross stitch of the Starry Night painting in front of a screen displaying the pattern chart. The landscape is almost completely finished and there’s only one notable section of the sky unfinished.
Last minute #WIPwednesday update on the cross stitch
Can the barometric pressure stop changing please!!
Got about 48 hours to go, but it would make a big difference if I can get this sorted tonight, so fingers crossed for these doing a few laps while I'm asleep.
Thank you everyone sharing, you're fantastic! Most of the way there, just this last bump to get over.
Me wearing the hat from the previous post, along with a matching knitted scarf with triangular waves
My hand is holding an orange that has been neatly tattooed with the word “fuck” in cursive script using black ink.
Aaand the last for now! I’ve got good pics of my fancier chainmail somewhere, I’ll see if I can dig them up soon. Gettin silly with the last one - it was practice, but also a mood when I wanted to stab something a bunch.
A lacy crochet shawl, striped in a variety of shades of blue
Me, wearing a crocheted shawl that looks like a slice of an orange
A thread lace crocheted doily in rainbow colors
A knitted hat with vertical stripes in earth-toned rainbow colors
Getting close to done with what’s in my camera roll. The orange shawl is another of my own patterns
A pair of arrowhead-shaped chainmail earrings in a random array of purple, silver, and black rings
A necklace of strung peach-colored coin and freshwater pearls and darker peach-colored fancy lampwork glass beads, with gold spacers.
A necklace with a round mother of pearl and pale lavender glass drop bead pendant on a silver chain
A set of matching chainmail necklace and earrings in silver. The earrings are arrowhead-shaped and the necklace has two of the same shapes coming outward from the center, with a mobius ball drop and linked mobius balls for the chain
Did I mention that I also make jewelry yet?
A black and white scarf in tapestry crochet with a crescent moon motif and stripes
The front of a mesh swimsuit-cover top in dark purple filet crochet, with two skulls in profile facing each other above crossed bones.
I’m wearing a mosaic crochet beanie with a music-notes motif in the colors of the bi and trans Pride flags and looking away from the camera such that the hat is the focus
A vibrantly colored rainbow Virus shawl laid out on a carpet that I promise is clean, the camera just freaked out about the shawl colors, making the carpet look grungy by comparison
Two more of my own patterns in this set, the tapestry-crochet scarf and filet crochet swimsuit cover-up.
Me, wearing a large star shaped shawl in earth tone rainbow colors in front of a mirror, positioned so that you can see the back of the shawl in the mirror
A closeup detail of the front of the same shawl, held closed with an enameled leaf pin
Me, wearing a crocheted mesh crop top in the colors and shape of the Progress pride flag
A cross stitched ferny leaf in dark green on slightly greyer-green linen fabric
One of my favorite shawls (bonus closeup detail!), my fit for Pride a few years ago, and a very subtle decorative embroidery
A blue crocheted shell lace wristwarmer
An orange crocheted amigurumi balloon dog, on a shelf with a purple, white, and black pineapple star doily
A knitted hat with a zigzag and diamonds pattern in silver and rainbow
A knitted hat with vertical stripes in red, black, and cream
More fibercrafts! The wristwarmers and rainbow hat are more of my own patterns.
A white person wearing a crocheted tank top in variegated pastel yarn
A scarf with stripes of red, black, and a speckly tan, with post stitch overlays in a repeating kite motif across the red stripes.
A double-knit scarf in pink and cream with a Nordic star motif
A black crocheted scarf in a lacy stitch with an edging of a black grid over silver to look like a studded belt.
More crochet and some knitting, a top (not my pattern, but I made alterations) and three scarves I designed myself
