Honestly I think both things will happen. Existing C devs will think they’re different even though it’s probably not true.

Also no one will use foundational code written in memory unsafe languages because the risk is too high.

Strongly agree with this take. Pretty much exactly how I use the terms as well.

It’s almost like the guy who has bankrupted every business he’s ever run is shit at running things. Who knew 🤷

My thoughts go out to all the open source maintainers that have dug their heals in on refusing to use AI. Mythos makes that position untenable if you care at all about the security of the people that are downstream of you.

Either you use AI to find and patch fast or you become a security liability

At a certain point this is just spiking the football, but “our model can 0day almost every piece of open software on the internet” is not something a stochastic parrot is capable of and also not indicative that capacities are plateauing or have no economic value

This is a crazy read. It's both unsettling and reassuring to read about a model being able to find these exploits autonomously.

Contrary to the blind hater's beliefs this is going to make software better, not worse.

i am barely a computer toucher at all but even i understand that, if at any time any two websites are having a problem at the same time, the problem is that amazon broke us-east again, and not the websites themselves

Gonna photography nerd for a moment!

Doing exposure adjustment on RAW photos is really common but usually you have to balance with other aspects of the photo looking like crap.

Here you can just crank the exposure up because the background is pure black and not going to be washed out!

Anyone else notice the bug in YouTube's time codes? Not sure if it's re-encode thing or a UI thing but all the videos I've watched in the last day have a negative timecode offset to start.

Screen shot of a buddy from Claude Code. It is a Rare buddy with the name Flumox. The description of Flumox is "A rotund ball of controlled chaos who watches your bugs with unsettling intensity, then floods your console with wildly inaccurate theories at machine-gun speed."

Pretty sure I've had co-workers like this before

I love this, this is awesome, especially that last paragraph.

Do something inspiring to you and it will resonate with others. Tools are tools, use them as such.

Wax lyrical about what tools people can use and what they can't way less. That shit is lame anyway.

I honestly pity the folks on here that rage so hard about AI they think all data centers are bad.

What sad angry lives they must have

The anti-AI takes on here have gotten so bad that I’m just blocking anyone I see with a terrible take.

Not worth the energy to deal with people who are unable to update their thinking as technology changes.

NASA's Artemis II Live Mission Coverage (Official Broadcast)
NASA's Artemis II Live Mission Coverage (Official Broadcast) YouTube video by NASA

It's so awesome to be able to have a live stream of the Artemis mission on freaking YouTube. I could never imagine that I'd get to listen in on a moon mission basically in real time in my life.

Michael Collins, the chap who took this photograph, remains the only person on earth to have taken a photo that had everyone in shot aside himself.

If Artemis is going up then it gives me an excuse to once again post this photo, the only one to contain every human being in the universe but one.

I’ve loved the space program since I was a kid and this was one of the most special moments of my life.

I was born too late to watch Apollo but born in time to watch Artemis. Good luck and Godspeed.

And this folks is why flat taxes -- social security, sales tax, etc. -- are bad. They are a regressive tax that put a disproportional percentage of tax burden on those who make less money.

If the $$$ is the same for everyone the percentage goes up the less money you make.
