Happy birthday!

Book cover with a roughly sketched image inside a series frame. Frame has a broken sword and the title is "Outlaw's Apprentice: Broken Blade." Sketch is of a teenage boy and an adult woman surrounded by sword-wielding fellas in vaguely-skullish helmets that hide their features. There''s a castle in the background with a tall, mostly timber keep and slanting peaked roofs, surrounded by a wooden palisade. Behind that, a forest.
Landed on a composition for the cover for book 1. Pretty happy with it, hopefully it'll convey what the series is going to have (duo leads, swordfighting, trees, armed and masked agents of an unjust state, castle of unfamiliar design, mud).
Here’s my first Pippy the Baby story. The second one will be longer than 1 page, this was more of a proof of concept for myself. I worked really hard on the hand lettering; it’s not perfect but I’m sure it’ll improve with time.
Inks done, onto final colors and lettering
Almost done with the inks.
Here’s a timelapse of me trying to figure out how to draw mice. I really wanted him to have a beard and to see if I could get a viking-ish helmet on him without the ears getting in the way.
I would love to see your designs on a lotr poster someday, these look fanfriggintastic!
A drawing of the puppy knights characters Sparky and Pugsly as Batman spoofs: The K-night and the Pug Wonder. They are mid-air with their capes flowing, Sparky is doing a downward kick, and Pugsly is pulling the string on their slingshot. There is a large moon as the backdrop.
K-night? K-9ight? Knighty-night??

I drew this a while ago and decided to add some more foliage and a little background. I still need to get more comfortable with the leaf technique I used, but I think it’s good enough here.

Roughs for the Holly King and the Oak King (the Holly King is currently gaining in his strength to its peak on the 21st, when he'll kill the Oak King, starting the seasonal cycle anew).
The direct mirroring is just to reckon on the design, they'll have slightly different looks, but still close.
Here’s a fun Frodo drawing. I’m gonna turn this one into an ornament.
Been trying for a while to nail down Grýla, and a big part of the difficulty was that I wasn't leaning into how she's generally represented in costume these days. So less a troll with nineish tails, more a lanky ogre with layered sweaters (roughs, finals will be inked and watercolored)
Here’s a frodo sketch, still working this guy out, the next one will be more dynamic and refined
Here’s a mockup I made today with some old art. I think tomorrow I’ll adjust the template and do some new illustrations for fun.
Took a long 3 months off of drawing, just started sketching again last night, here’s a few of em.
This is looking so wonderful, gotta check out that movie now
I got lucky and the second frame I thrifted was a perfect fit.
Finally found a frame big enough and good enough for my Chris Schweizer Over the Garden Wall Print. #overthegardenwall
Here’s an update. I’m still tinkering with the text on the back cover, and some other things. It’s definitely getting close to good enough. And then I gotta vector my text :/
I decided to rename the sketchbook to “Nicky Noons Bestiary of Goblins & More” Along with that I redesigned the cover, it’s not 100% finished but it will look very close to this. #characterdesign #conceptart #goblins

Here’s some character studies, gotta get her hair more simplified but I think this is a good start. #characterdesign
Decided that this color palette fits better with page 8.
I felt the round skelly could be pushed a bit more to look like the skelly he’s meant to be; so I gave him some better legs
