I would argue that if one describes themself as a social conservative, then they are not on the Left, certainly not on "the hardest Left".
There are things about me that make me marginalized in my society, that make me feel alone & attacked - and I am. Many are. The proudly Left & Woke stand w/ us.

I'm speaking of scores of UK Leftists interacted with regularly (the same people) over years, discussing all manner of political issues. I would not erase your experience. I would argue that those voices are not actually the Left, let alone "the hardest Left" as described in the original post. 🫂

Maybe you're thinking of Democrats or the media, because I don't know anyone on the actual Left who shies away from declaring themselves woke, because, as you say, it's the correct thing to be. The right is incredibly effective at defining the Dems' agenda/language/"resistance", but not the Left's.
