I’m in! I’ll put it in the freezer if it gets too much. :)
I mean, not actually. I’m the child of two librarians. I could never.

She’s been my first choice for quite some time and continues to demonstrate why that is so. Though I share your warranted skepticism about the odds we face, I am willing to work daily to prove me wrong.
Real talk: Just how scary is it? lol I can’t usually do horror but I so desperately want to read this. Like I generally don’t watch horror, but a bestie told me I had to watch The Conjuring and they were entirely correct. May your sales be through the roof either way!
lol Me too!! I used to play it with my grandparents.
There is a history of exactly this in other countries facing similar crises/governments.
If you want to get together to commiserate, bingo starts at 7.
"Stop overreacting, they're never going to do that."

Such a great thread on this! I was so bored I didn’t even finish the trailer.
Exactly! And it’s behavior we’re still dealing with.
Here are some things that could happen to push back against this culture: Hockey leadership could push back and rebuke this behavior. The men could decide not to go to the White House. Parents could use this as a teaching moment. And we could all support women’s hockey and women athletes even more.
“I am somebody” shaped how millions of us saw ourselves as kids, including me. That message mattered. It still does.
Rest in power, Jesse Jackson

No joke: I got angry hate mail today for writing an obituary of a Black woman scientist—because the person felt she did didn’t deserve the recognition.
Which just makes me want to share it again: www.nature.com/articles/d41...
ICE shackled a woman for 24 hours in a bathroom with 3 other men.
ICE detained a five-year-old child who got sick under their watch.
ICE has gone after people who came here through legal processes.
This is out of control. Kristi Noem has got to go.
AOC is 💯 on 🎯.
Sadly, no clot has come to our defense as yet.
It is a sprint and a marathon and a relay race. All of the above. Just ask the people who have been doing the work for decades because it is all part of a larger, longer struggle.
It’s scary sometimes, but it’s less scary when we stand together. 💜 3/3
Keep going. Speak up. Help however you can. Strike however you can. Immigrants are our neighbors. The people who are standing up for them are our neighbors. 2/3
"They say they're coming in to save us from some evil? They're talking about our neighbors who bake for us, who take care of us... Alex was murdered while he was helping. I can't stop thinking of Mr. Rogers. Mr. Rogers said look for the helpers, and right now the helpers have a target on our forehead... Mr. Rogers would be here right now too, so I'm here." Minnesota Protester invokes Mr. Rogers while condemning the killing of Alex Pretti
“They’re talking about our neighbors.”
Best friend’s boss just agreed to close the office tomorrow (Jan 30) for the general strike. It happened because someone spoke up. That simple. 1/3
You can’t reform this.
Throw the whole department away.
Alex Pretti was a Minneapolis ICU nurse who spent his days caring for and saving others. Today, he was shot and killed by a Border Patrol Agent. Alex's life was extinguished by state violence. We must tell the truth about what is happening. My father warned us, "When evil men plot, good men must plan. When evil men burn and bomb, good men must build and bind." What we are witnessing now (masked raids, people taken without due process, vigilante, Gestapo, and slave patrol-like like tactics normalized under the color of law) is a moral crisis. Nonviolence demands more than outrage; it demands action. Congress must dismantle ICE; enact just, humane immigration policies; and ensure implementation of the policies by people who honor the humanity of Black and Brown immigrants, respect those raising their voices in support of immigrants, and seek the safety of community. The blood of those who are being kidnapped and unjustly killed by agents with impunity is not only on the hands of those who pull the trigger, but on every lawmaker and every court that has the power to intervene and chooses silence. Creating the Beloved Community requires truth, accountability, and the courage to act before more lives are lost. Text by Bernice A. King
in case you're curious about how angry Minnesota is about ICE, it was -20 today
1/The law requires a judicial warrant based on probable cause signed by a judge to enter a home or private area in a biz (not an administrative one signed by an “immigration authority” ie a DHS employee). This is clearly unlawful conduct. ICE can’t change the law just because it doesn’t like it.
This is what happens when you give Democrats the power to act instead of in the minority parliamentary BULLSHIT!
🔥 JUST NOW — Rep. @ilhanmn.bsky.social lights up complicit Republicans: “Those of us who escaped places like that, the one place we thought we would never experience this is the united Goddamn states… I am ashamed. And we must do all we can to bring back the 🇺🇸 we all escaped into.
You don’t need a long history of protest to get involved. You do need to be prepared. And there are lots of online resources to make that happen rapidly.
As always: not everyone is able to contribute the same way. The important thing is to help however we can.
So many ways to be loud. Choose one or more ways and keep working. Daily.
Notes on federal agents being prosecuted for murder. Yes we can.
DOJ use of force policy.
He broke the law and murdered a US citizen. Full stop.
