If Santa wants you at a rally, you better go! (See previous post)
A poster: Many demonstrators outdoors, holding protest signs and flags: NO KINGS! The image of a crown with a red ‘X’ drawn through it; and, text that reads, “ Power belongs to the people. Join the movement. Saturday, October 18th. NO KINGS.”
In June, millions of everyday Americans from every walk of life peacefully took to the streets and declared with one voice: NO KINGS!
And President Trump’s attempt at a coronation collapsed under the strength of a movement rising against his abuses of power.

Trump’s cuts to public radio would destroy stations serving rural and Indigenous audiences in the West. Here’s why, by the numbers.
Coming up! In Juneau.
I’ve heard politicians, business leaders and government officials describe the economic wonders of mining rare earth elements. Trump is doing it too. One developer told a Ketchikan crowd he’d create 1,000 jobs. None of it has happened. Turns out, what we REALLY need is copper. Read the article:

Support your local businesses and skip Amazon, Temu and other giants with no conscience. I’m visiting the Outer Banks of North Carolina and found this great regional brewery. Read the label.

It was just as cold for Obama's inauguration in 2009, fyi.
110 years ago, the Treadwell Gold Mines covered the shoreline of Alaska’s Douglas Island with stamp mills, docks and buildings. What remains is rotting dock pilings, a few cement structures (a salt-water pump house is shown here) and concrete foundations. Today, it’s a great place to walk your dog.
This is Canyonlands National Park in Utah. Trump wants to shrink or eliminate public lands in parts of the country. Or let in developers with no respect for the environment. Let’s raise hell to stop that from happening!
So, it’s snowing in beautiful Douglas, Alaska. It and the tides haven’t demolished the face created with rocks and sand.
Mural from the Utah Capitol, one of several celebrating an incredibly racist history. Not that other state capitols don’t have the same.
The ballot measure to repeal Alaska's open primary and ranked choice voting system was defeated, according to unofficial results.
Two types of weather, two sides of the continent.
