Fundamentally, ign is a name casual folks have heard of that tries to sum up pros and cons in a few words for those skimming, and get taken out of context by folks who don't read the review fir context on the 2-3 word summary bullet point
That's a totally valid reason to dislike / disagree with the review. I certainly think there are many valid critiques one could have that are thoughtful.
Oh, is don't disagree. Your post just read to me like "I'm annoyed at that reviewer being bad, he did so much damage", I thought it best to check you were aware that he wasn't a reviewer, and that the clip was constructed to push its claim etc
To be clear, I'm not arguing it originated with video games, but I don't hint it's spike with video games has lined up with a spike in anti intellectualism in a demographic 0f largely younger men, through an innocuous lens
Yes, but there's a difference between "i am sceptical of this specific outlet for x reason" and "i no longer believe in the idea that sn expert may know more than me on a subject", the latter being what is increasingly common.
The video was posted out 0f context, suggested to be a polygon reviewer trying their hardest to play and sucking that much, who would be the person to play and review at release, wh8ch was never true.
Except he was never a "professional video game reviewer". He was a business analyst, whose job is in depth interviews about the finances of the industry. His colleagues told him to record gameplay whike he did hus interview, so they could post it as a laugh, knowing he sucks at playing games
Yeo, same for "too much cheese", "i found the humour and worldbuilding one dimensional, boiled down to cheese rather than thoughtful noir parody, amd this was not to my tastes" is totally valid.
Have you read that OG review? They didn't give it a 5/10, or only score it critically for "too much water", the broader critique was "not enough water type variety for a game with that many water routes. It was a type diversity vs routing critique.
Yes, but fpr clarity i am talking about the rise of this in right wing adult content creators, and it rising alongside their own spreading of other anti intellectual talking points as an observable phenomenon.
I'm aware sometimes kids also have bad takes.
the PS5 home screen, showing Saros as the most recently played game. A man with a gun stands in front of an eclipse, and a monster with many arms.
Happy to confirm I've been sent a review copy of Saros ahead of release, and am preparing an accessibility review / Access-Ability episode.
Embargo for reviews is Friday April 24 @ 8:00 AM BST (London).
Expect my review live when embargo lifts.

After the hiccup of those two Enterprise episodes, I'm starting to demonstrate my uncanny ability to roll really good episodes of The Next Generation, specifically from Season 5. Also: my complete lack of sense of time – including, but not limited to, when Captain Frasier happened.
It really is our first truly superb roll of the dice. Such a rock solid episode through and through.

All attack can work. I'm top 2k in the world in the current competition weekend with a way more attack version early team mode. You can make it work with practice and the right stats :)
Yeah, i evolved it over a few days. It started farig, incinerator, sinescha, gardevoir, torkoal, gurdurr. At times lit had politoad and golurk. Even briefly mimikyuu. There's definately room to experiment and make your own version.
3 Win Streak, LauraKBuzz, Master Ball Rank 4.
Team ID 3LK1J1BXSY. STURDY quick Claw Archaludon, Drought Charcoal Torkoal, Telepathy Mega Gardevoir, Armour Tail Colbur Berry Farigiraf, Adaptability Leftovers Basculegion, and Zero to Hero Sitrus Berry Palafin.
Made it to Master Ball Rank in Pokemon Champions with a trick room team i made myself, that I've not seen anyone else replicate.
I know there's the climb to Champion Rank to go, but this is by far the best I've ever done at competitive doubles Pokemon.
Maybe start with a strat like trick team, as it has a really clear goal, and forces practicing speed control, and facing teams that will try and stall you out. Forces you to understand how to succeed when strong players can see your strategy coming.
The team i shared basically always opens with farigiraf to set trick room, making sliw mon fast (and immune to priority attacks), plus a fast water mon with a move that let's it attack, then swap out for a slower month that can sweep.
Fast cones back at the end of trick room runs out.
