The thing is, despite Trump ravings, economics doesn't change. It's continuing with his active hindrance. He's has had much more success slowing EV adoption than green energy.

I'd like to think those still Conservative are appalled by Reform. That the Conservative leadership have got it wrong trying to be Reform to bring those who left back.
I fear a fascist third is unfortantly normal. But I hope most are "soft" fascist. "Oh not Muhammad next-door, he's lovely!"
Microsoft dependency is still a massive problem.
Most people are completely vendor locked and don't understand monopolies.
If MS/US turned the UK off, most of the country would be straight into the dark of a "digital dark age". Let alone if it was also Apple, Google, Meta, Amazon, etc.
Choice is good and unavoidable with the freedom to fork or build your own. It's a bazaar not a cathedral. In fact, Linux itself is just a base board in a massive sea of Lego bricks of UNIX. A distro just being a load of instructions with specific bricks used together. Though Debian for the win. π

Maybe a bit long (I probably wouldn't be any shorter), but hard agree : www.jimmyff.co.uk/blog/open-le...
If US politics wasn't Red vs Blue, its democracy would work better. Just two parties is dysfunctional. The natural state of democracy is coalitions and compromise. Parties rising and falling. But I don't think the US is ready to question its structure yet.
Yes, there are growing problems. To really be free, there need to regulation intervention. There is a lot of anticompetitive practice going on taking away consumer choice. Governments don't want citizens to have privacy either, so competition, sovereignty and right to repair are the angles to push.
Not if you not feeding them data or money. Android biggest gift is that it gives us an exit in that it is Linux, and so you can get the Device Tree. So you can bring your own Linux. Like PostMarketOS and co, so there is an exit to freedom. A bug to Google and a feature to us. GPL doing its job.
Yep Android is more hackable. You can hack away at it to make it what you want.
You don't get non-Apple spins of iOS you can install new versions of on old phones. Like LineageOS.
If you want to be sure others are not able to hack you, GrapheneOS.
Android being Linux helps real Linux phones to.

Hope they replace the software on those F-35 as you just know America will have remote exploits/disabling.
The Dutch seam to be claiming they have jail broken them....
The problem it is a two party system. Literally just red vs blue. The Republican party needs a way to wither and die and there isn't one because there is no way it can be naturally be replaced. The American system is deeply broken and Trump is just a symptom of that.
"Hollow milk chocolate egg with dried grapes (3.5%) and chopped almods (2%)"
Top four ingredients are milk, sugar, cocoa butter, cocoa mass.
Seams like chocolate to me but most importantly, it is yummy. π
It's OK. Don't worry, it doesn't have the Butyric acid of American chocolate.

Good read.

That was the call I made too. I figured the egg is probably OK, but the bars are never normally are and the wrapper says not. Which is a shame, I miss fruit and nut. Though Aldi's version is OK and claims to be safe.
Back of chocolate egg box and chocolate bar inside's wrapper. Different may contain.
Which is it Cadbury? Which "may contain" is right? The one on the box, or the one on wrapper? OTHER NUTS I'm fine with, WHEAT, is a big problem.

I love this stuff. The tangled history and software archeology. I also love story of hacking away the software that you want on hardware you have. The freedom. Linux is part of the UNIX sea of Lego bricks. Linux is just a base board to build on. A distro is a selection of bricks and instructions.
It simple enough. With libre software, you can't stop people forking their own versions. So you get a lot of choice. Debian is a root distro that has many descendents.

With no upgrade path, including security updates, and thus slow withdrawal of application support, "stranded" isn't inappropriate.
We had an impressive work experience lad find us. He had got into Linux for gaming on his laptop. He found Linux made his game faster, then got into tweaking and shrinking Linux to make it faster still. Then found he didn't care about the game anymore, just the system tweaking.
You don't have to be a developer or hacker to get into Linux. You can be just trying to make good use of a laptop that American bigtech tells you needs replacing. Normally it's no where near end of life.
Mint with Cinnamon is a solid way of starting out. I normally say learning Linux on a craptop is an excellent path, but this laptop is rather high spec! Junkyard computing is an area Linux rules in. Like web, super computing, network equipment, IoT, etc, etc.
There needs to be more parties. Red vs Blue would be comically bad if the consequences hadn't been so dire. More parties and a better voting system. A twentieth first century democracy.
Trump is a symptom. Some other awful grifter could ride the same wave. American is sick and while it thinks of itself as "the best country in the world", it's not going to fix itself. For example, dualopy is not really a funtional democracy. Literally just red vs blue. Devisive and unrepresentative.
