I am not particularly confident in my animating skills, so this animation is really just practice to help hone my skills.

Image shows a creature with both rodent and goat like features. This character is a Skritter Herder. He is wielding a staff shaped horn bearing a resemblance to an alp horn. On the rope tied to the horn, bipedal ant-like creatures called Skritters hang on as they are about to be catapulted. There are about nine Skritters total being launched, with the last one letting go to early.

A tall tripedal spider-like creature called a Stilting Sneer, looming above the Skritter Herder and his Skritters. On the top of the image, a yellow light in the shape of an upside down triangle puts emphasis on the Stilting Sneer. The rest of the seen below is colored purple with what looks to be eerie glowing stalks in the background. A faint purple glow surrounds the Herder and Skritters.

Vintage Story, Core Keeper, and R.E.P.O. I do not know if you would like these games, just naming what I have been playing recently.

Image shows a digitigrade rodent like creature with a leaf attached to the top of its' hood. The creature is wearing shabby clothing of various shades of brown and visible stitching at the seams. It is hurling some bipedal ant-like creatures called Skritters using a knotted loop at the end of a large horn from which one of the Skritters is holding on to with its mandibles. The other Skritters are holding on to the legs of the first Skritter as they are being catapulted. The horn the rodent creature is holding bears a resemblance to an alp horn.

A digitigrade creature with lamb like facial features called a skritter herder in the middle of three ant like creatures called skritters. Each skritter is of a different class. The far left is the scout, closest left of the herder is the worker, and to the right is the super major.

Finally made clothes for the character I have dubbed the Skritter Herder.

Just realized that I did not clarify which is the redesign, the left image is the new model.

Image displays three bipedal ant like creatures from largest to smallest. The creatures have an uncanny resemblance to rubber ducks. The first one has large curved forward-facing spikes on its back and has a large head, takes inspiration from super major ants (also known as soldiers). the second one is based on worker ants and most resembles a rubber duck. The third takes inspiration from termite nasute soldiers, with a hollow horn protruding from its head that functions like a gun. The third also has unusually long mandibles to make up for its horn being in the way.

This image shows the older designs of the three ant like critters. The old design is more ant like than the newer models. The older designs have a large banner like antenna that display false eyes. The first is the super major of the group, it has smaller spikes on its back and mandibles that are more curved and spiked like antlers. The older design for the super major is a bit smaller than the redesign. The second is the worker and takes heavy inspiration from weaver ants. The third is the nasute soldier, it has two large binocular like eyes. Its mandibles are around the same length, however its horn is significantly longer than the redesign.

First post of the year. wasn't satisfied with the first design of my ant creatures and ended up remodeling them.

I focus mainly on creature design and create rigged 3D models in Blender.

The Stilting Sneer is fully rigged and modeled. Nearly forgot to post my progress on the creature. The little sqwaddles (the critters under the stilting sneer) are for scale.

I had to make sure that the mesh was functional with the armature so I rigged it during the modeling process.
This is to insure that if I messed up I wouldn't have to remodel the limbs completely from scratch.

Another WIP, name of the critter can be seen in the scene collections located at the top right.
This model was made differently from the others I have created. Typically I would start the weight painting process after finishing the mesh, however the legs were made in an unusual way.

The sniper class of these little critters. I also decided to call them sqwadles (spelling pending). Now that I am finished the sqwadle caste system I can work on other creatures.

Finally Finished with the super major. The roughness texture feels a bit off on this one so I might work on that a bit. Other than that I think I am pretty much done with this model.
