unfortunately "heteronormative patriarchy" fits too perfectly with the "do what we like and we like what we do" bit as well so that's what my brain is doing today now

Mobile. Like his bandmate Shane Lynch, Graham had worked as a mechanic before finding fame as a singer;[4] Lynch has stated in an interview that during the early days of Boyzone, he and Graham had a heated argument over exhaust pipes and barely spoke to each other for fifteen years.[5]

"During the darkest days of the AIDS crisis, we buried our friends in the morning, we protested in the afternoon, and we danced all night.

The dance kept us in the fight because it was the dance we were fighting for."

i could not give one single fuck about immigration and never have my entire life. to care, even in a ‘reasonable’ oh there should be proper checks and balances way is to be, rudely, the dumbest person alive. literally what difference is it to you

Using a photo of a disabled, autistic woman violently dragged from her car on the way to a doctor's appointment with this headline certainly is a choice.

There’s this kind of holier-than-thou tendency to dismiss people’s observations of the world coming apart at the seams by referencing past evils and derisively sneering, “Where have you been?/You’re just now noticing this?” that I think is almost never constructive or helpful.

one thing I will say is it would be nice if theorists (etc) could stop logically associating transness with a refusal/decline/whatever of sexuality. I promise we fuck! I really cannot stress this enough!

Letter to the editor:

The protection of badgers has a long pedigree (Report, 29 August). Arthur Gore, known as "Boofy", the eighth Earl of Arran, was a fanatical defender of them. He was also a tireless campaigner for the rights of homosexuals. In 1967 he managed to push through a law in the Lords that decriminalised homosexuality but failed to pass a bill to outlaw the cruel hunting of badgers. When asked why he had not received enough sup- port for his badger bill, he replied: "Not many badgers in the House of Lords." Tony Lywood Keswick, Cumbria

Our comrades, our hunger strikers, have been starving for 5 weeks in protest of the state's oppression of Palestinian activists and continued participation in Israeli apartheid and genocide.
If you have not done anything to support them, start now.

We've written & published a short summary statement regarding the Sandie Peggie V NHS Fife Health Board employment tribunal case & the judgment given yesterday. Much of the media coverage has missed key information, the most important aspect being that all claims against Dr Beth Upton were dismissed

The WI and Girlguiding have been pressured to exclude trans women – yet the law is clear as mud | Jess O’Thomson Since the supreme court decision, organisations have faced lobbying and legal threats. But trans people are protected by discrimination law too, says Jess O’Thomson of the Good Law Project

Me, in The Guardian today:

"This is a moment that requires bravery in standing up for what is right. Organisations that value trans people should know not just that the law is on their side – but so, also, are many people who will step up to defend them if they have the courage to take a stand."
