BTW, we don't expect people to accommodate our young daughter at stores, restaurants, etc. It's just nice to see.

4.1 Given the healthy snack selection for adults also wasn't great, I'm inclined to believe this is not limited to kids' snacks.

Celeiro (healthy grocery chain) had better options.

4. Supermarkets had a decent selection of food and snacks that are toddler/kid friendly.

But healthy selections were usually not available. Maybe people don't feed their kids as many prepackaged snacks as Americans do. But being a tourist limits the ability of prepping healthy snacks.

3. Although I saw many, many, kids having a meal with their parents, I didn't see a single one using a phone or a tablet.

Parents using screens was also not common.

That was truly refreshing.

2. Even when they didn't have a kids menu, they would ask if there was something they could do to accommodate our young daughter.

A few observations from a family traveling with a 3.5 y.o. 🧵

1. People are super friendly and accommodating towards kids. People either helped us, talked to us, or made a change to make sure our small family was welcomed.

But... The residential areas don't have many parks for kids.

I don't miss the cars parked on the sidewalk either, but that's not much different than what I have at home.

Me; a selfie in front of a rock arch in Lagos

Back from a couple of weeks in Portugal (Lagos and Lisboa)

I miss the Sun, the wine, the food, and the people.

I don't miss the drivers, the complete lack of cycling infrastructure, and the beer.

A GMC hummer advertisement. The pickup truck is going up a flight of stairs in what looks like a pedestrian area.

How is this even remotely acceptable as advertising?

Version 10.0.0 Released It’s the turning of the seasons today, and to celebrate, the KiCad project is proud to announce the release of Version 10! This release is packed with new features, improvements, and hundreds of bug ...

KiCad 10 is out. I haven't designed a PCB in over a year but this is causing an itch that needs to be scratched.

The "funny" thing is that no one is trying to do anything useful to solve the issue. Everyone is just making it worse.

The Raspberry Pi 5 is $10 off at Micro Center in the US, so grab it while you can It's a good price for a great piece of hardware.

XDA reported that some Pi 5 models were discounted up to $35 this AM on Microcenter.

The discount has since changed to $10.

Reinforcing the idea they are no longer selling like hot cakes (I hate this pun)

I was only using Pi-Hole for DNS. I stopped using it for ad blocking because I found myself disabling it every time we had to do any Internet
shopping.

If I decide to use it again, I'll just install it on a VM/container instead of using a Pi.

I replaced 2 Raspberry Pi's with a modern router.

I was using Pi-Hole for local DNS and a PiVPN for Wireguard. My router does both of those things.

Raspberry Pi's are indeed falling into obsolescence when it comes to the consumer/hobbyist market.
