I remember the two of us blinking myopically in the morning sun as we emerged from the cinema.

You could get a fairly decent sweater in the Spring Sales for the price of a Doomsday ticket, and you'd get a lot more enjoyment out of it. Wait, I mean, you could get a miniature from me, buy a miniature

The last time I saw Akira at the cinema, it was at the end of an all-night, four movie run. As much as I’d like to see it again on the big screen, I don’t think it’ll capture the same zoned out, sleep-deprived and over-stimulated magic of that previous experience.

Parental advice is always “What to do if your child is unwell” or “How to deal with an aggressive child” and never “Ways to stop your child from continually howling at 9 o’clock at night”.

Alright, I know when I shave it knocks a few years off but I’ve just been ID’d buying some non-alcoholic beers.

Reader, I turned 40 earlier this year.

You’d really think Mila Kunis of all people would have learnt the consequence of writing letters of support.

Finished off the Lord Veritant that came with issue 1 of Spearhead magazine. Decided to give them a bit of a grimdark twist (because that hasn’t been don’t before at all, right?) with a head swap from the unfailingly useful Frostgrave Cultists sprue and some of the Army Painter’s John Blanche paints

Another miniature painting account I followed over on Insta now not only using AI to promote something but doubling down on its use claiming it’s a “project about forbidden technology, visualised through forbidden technology”. That’s not as avant-garde as you think, mate. That’s just wank.

A weird thing is that whenever I post criticism of Al, the majority of the people agreeing with me seem to be leftists. It's pretty much the only position I hold that seems to be more popular with the left than the right. It should be the opposite. My whole point about Al (especially Al in creative fields) is that it isn't human, it doesn't have a soul, and we cannot surrender our society to an unhuman soulless algorithm even if it makes our lives easier in some ways. It's very strange that an argument predicated on the existence of the soul resonates with the left while conservatives tend to scoff at it.

I think I’ve finally narrowed the deciding factor between Millennials and Zoomers and it’s whether your first exposure to complex and nuanced storytelling was Beast Wars or Bionicle.

Sorry I’m late, boss. I was kept up all night gripped in terror wondering if a man who set a deadline to commit genocide was going to follow through on that threat or not. Yeah, I know, those spreadsheets, I’ll get on them right away.
