ugh so deeply annoyed at tumblr that i've dragged myself back over here. i've never really gotten the hang of this site but i guess i'll try again

Two light blue spinning wheel bobbins, each filled with wool singles in a long gradient of coral to purple to grey-blue.
I kind of hyperfocused and spun all 100 grams of this gradient project in two days because I once again forgot how much I love BFL. I'll give it a day or so and then ply it, should be a nice laceweight yarn π§Ά

I have not, but it is now on my list!
I haven't watched Midsomer Murders in years, this does sound nice
A hand holding two white spinning wheel bobbins, each bobbin is filled with handspun teal blue two ply laceweight yarn.
I have two bobbins of 19 micron merino/ramie laceweight yarn to skein up today and I am currently trying to decide what to watch while I work π§Ά

I have quite a few pens and so much ink. The better to go along with my absolutely reasonable fiber stash
Honestly though being happy when I pick out a pen and ink makes me more likely to take notes, and taking more notes means I learn more about my spinning and what I need to work on
oh there are so many people who are into fiber arts and fountain pens. I personally love getting to match inks and projects and having a rainbow of notes to look back on
you know, I thought it would be hard and I would get annoyed at only having four pens inked but it's worked out really well this month. and I can always ink up another pen if I really dislike a pen and ink combo but so far spending more time per ink is kinda satisfying
A gridded notebook open to a page labeled Spinning Project with additional project notes in purple ink. A pink Kaweco Sport fountain pen sits on the left of the page. Wool top, hand dyed in corals and soft purples and wound into a very loose ball, sits to the right of the notebook.
Setting up for my next π§Ά gradient spinning project means weighing out fiber, creating a project page in my notebook and matching a βοΈ ink to my fiber. I went with Monteverde Rose Noir to match this BFL from Hilltop Cloud

add me please :) I'm always looking for more spinners to follow too
catching up with a #handspinning project and #theunexpectables because I am like three episodes behind.
I've already picked out what inks I'll be using from January through April. Maybe I'll use up a few samples this way. Or, more likely, I'll end up with an even longer full bottle wishlist
in my planner I am using one ink for 7-8 days while in my journal I switch inks every two pages. I get more time to focus on what I like or dislike about a pen and ink pairing while also letting myself change things up enough that I don't get bored.
I'm trying something different this year with my fountain pens and inks. last year I would ink 5-7 pens each month but felt that switching between pens each day didn't give me enough time writing with each ink. this year I'm limiting myself to 4 inks each month

trying to finish this bobbin today

starting off my morning right by knocking over my cup of tea before having a single sip
opening days 24 & 25 of my Diamine Inkvent calendar and hmm. Day 25 should have been a Starbright ink and I will sit on this hill and be petty about it.
Merry #christmas πΎππββ¬π€
so Forest Gateau was a fluke and my dislike of Diamine scented inks continues

added a Ply magazine index to my project notebook
Thank you! I have so many gradients in my stash, they're one of my favorite things to spin
I have a variety of dip pens, including Sailor Hocoro pens with various nib sizes as well as Pilot Iro-Utsushi pens in medium and fine. I didn't want to clean a pen each day
I'm enjoying this year's Diamine Inkvent but I admit I'm not really excited to use several of these inks. Maybe I just had too high expectations
making some progress on this ripple scarf in handspun yarn
I am considering being ambitious with my spinning and knitting projects in 2025.
I think I have maybe 12 grams of yarn left to finish knitting this scarf but I am so. bored. with it.
I finally make an account here but don't know what to say so. hi. here's my favorite yarn I spun this year. #handspinning #fiberart
