Hi, chess expert here! This is not funny - chess pieces only act like this when they’re in extreme distress.

Try 15+10 or even practicing on bots. You could try 20 minute plus time controls too, although I realize that takes serious time commitment. Remember that Titled professional players have time controls of 45+15, 90+30, and other wacky ranges.

You got this!

Don’t give up! Board vision takes time and experience to develop. Keep playing games, completing practice puzzles, and really slowing down before you make a move.

I could be falling for bait here
I guess I don’t see how this rule makes the game complicated. If we remove checkmate, why not remove en passant? Why not remove pinned pieces? If these make your local games easier for new people, power to ya. I think it’s silly to remove them from chess as a whole.

As a casual player, I’m not sure what is complicated about the concept of checkmate. If you’re in check, you must block, move, or take the attacking piece. If you can’t do those things, or only have moves that walk into check, you lose. Are you having issues identifying when you’re in check?

You get one assisted review a day. You can also manually review the game and look at the computer lines yourself.

Class Consciousness chess would be a fun variation

in competitive chess you can legally win a match by declaring “checkmate” at any time, regardless of where the pieces are on the board. it’s considered rather tasteless and won’t win you many friends, but it’s there whenever you really need to get out of a jam

It is a tragic shame such exclusive and transphobic attitudes are so prevalent in chess, especially at the higher level. Everyone should be allowed to compete in such a beautiful game and not be locked out due to old conservative people.

Methinks this should be titled ‘AI Chess’
