I do think that those lawyers and law professors who tried to fabricate a historical or legal case against birthright citizenship should be socially and professionally ostracized for their shocking cynicism and intellectual dishonesty as well as for their bald hostility to pluralist American values.

What other examples from US history are on par for this magnitude own goal?
Mark's ride-or-die comms bro is tweeting through it -- because having a jury find you've endangered the mental health of millions isn't a big deal apparently if it doesn't impact your bottom line.
This essay by @philklay.bsky.social is really good.
I haven't read someone so squarely address what it means that we have a government that is posting memes of blowing up Iranian ships, interspersed w/video game clips.
Obviously it's dark, but these are dark times for anyone patriotic or moral.
I find this insane that a product team thought this was a shippable thing. Good God.
Call and write your rep to say this is what you support since they will be debating it soon. Also ask them to support new leadership if the current folks push to eat around the cockroach.

After all these years, the Republican health care plan is still a simple 2 part plan:
1. Don’t get sick
2. If you do get sick, die quicly

I’m so glad the republicans have come around to a public option for the ACA.
And our rates are 2-3 times higher than the national average -not to mention their lines have caused some of country's worst fires and the San Bruno gas explosion. A history of prioritizing shareholder returns and executive compensation over safety and maintenance. Complete trash.

If these are regulated monopolies serving the public interest, how can they make secret deals that affect public rates? Tech companies have extracted enough money from all of us to pay for their own energy-hungry AI slop.

Not only excellent reporting, this is the clearest and most plainly stated article I've seen in the mainstream media so far, mincing no words and pointing out every single one of the Trump admin's canards and misdirections.
As one of the quoted experts says, it's murder, full stop.
This plus stationing troops has made DC a "safe zone" and a "totally safe city" and not at all a target.
Denser housing can be attractive and convenient, yet we often opt for cheap, short-lived 5x1’s or worse. Why not invest in ourselves and create desirable structures like we see in our older cities and much of Europe?

Trump’s numbers on prices are terrible. Getting into a fight with the king of affordability would only sink them further. He knows that.
Trump understands that fame can equal power, that’s why he’s always talking about enemies having low ratings. He doesn’t want a popularity fight with the champion of affordability, it’s a loser for him right now.
14th amendment is pretty straightforward. Not sure what there is to discuss. This meeting could have been an email.
It’s all based on a personal vendetta vs the law, making it impossible to bring a legitimate case. Some people put personal ambition first. They are easily manipulated and duped. Halligan and Bondi are being conned by the President. He will dump them after he uses them up.
He has an affinity for the trade. Consider that his modeling agency could have included a lot more than modeling.
Redecorating the Whitehouse with lots of gold and marble, bailing out wealthy investors in Argentina, accepting a jet that needs a 1B retrofit for personal use has been glaringly tone deaf. Wealth for me, costs for thee.
Really infuriating - especially given the reporting by WIRED and NPR on how carelessly this data was handled by DODGE. I doubt that DHS is the only owner of a new repository.
