The 2026 #MVPSummit wraps. My first, not my last. Most content is NDA, but AI direction is sharpening fast. Skills build on MCP and point to what’s next. The real value is the people. Thanks to Neil Spellings, Hal Hostetler, and Dan Rey. One more day with product teams.

GitHub Copilot CLI caught my attention at #MVPSummit. Feels odd vs VS Code Copilot, but /fleet for parallel workloads is compelling. ADO integration is unclear; MCP ADO server might bridge the gap.

I’m official. #MVPSummit
Back on Microsoft campus for the first time since 2000.
#MVPSummit, I barely recognize it. It’s become a mini city. The grey two and three story buildings are replaced with modern architecture, shopping, dining, and a soccer field. It’s been wholly rebuilt and reinvented a quarter century later.
Thundersnow is the name of my Steel Panther cover band.
So, I maintain a six year old #VSCode extension that generates #SSML from a markdown syntax. It still gets a trickle of daily downloads.
There are three other extensions tagged with SSML. That haven’t been updated since they were first published. Wonder how many one shots are languishing out there.
Studying for the AZ-500 this week and I’ve reached the phase where every Azure service looks like it was named by a committee that lost a bet.
“Is that setting in Sentinel, Entra, Key Vault, Policy, RBAC, PIM… or the other blade that only appears during a full moon and after 3 coffee refills?”

While putting together a stack of books I’ve read for a donation to my local library, I came across this one. Not sure how it ended up in my collection. I’m keeping it.

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.
Briskets smoking while the fire barely held.
Ribs bending just right, lacquered and hissing as they leave the grate.
Fat dripping onto coals, flaring like constellations in the dark of the pit.
Lost to memory, like smoke on the wind.
Time to brine.
It still blows my mind that you could access CPU registers directly in QBasic. You can’t pull that rabbit out of C#.
This is my third #BlackHat and #DEFCON. Three years ago DARPA announced the AI #Cybersecurity challenge. $21 million is at stake in prizes and the winner will be announced in a few days at DEFCON.

If only more servers supported ocsp.
I had one of these with 3D Asteroids that required a headset with spinning red and blue filters. I watched a 3D screening of Jaws with those.
I’m a little late in posting this. Was in Seattle for MS Build last week and had an afternoon to spare.
Long live the new PowerShell.
@csharpfritz.com Hey Jeff, thanks for the presentation and chat at the Philly .NET Meet Up. I wanted to follow up with you on JSONPath parsing support in System.Text.Json. Found this Issue: github.com/dotnet/runti...
How can I help push this forward?
Sunset at 4:39 PM in Cape May, NJ. This early darkness makes me feel like going to sleep by 7:30.
Spotted at #defcon32. Looks like the borg are off to a modest start.
I don’t always play baccarat, but when I do I insist on noodles.

The TRS-80 was the first computer I encountered that remembered the time between reboots. It had a lithium watch battery. When we got a PC with an 286 processor, my father donated the TRS-80 to my elementary school. I was my school's first de facto comp sci teacher.
This is a post from an automated client. How about them apples?
That take me back. I had:
Vic-20
Commodore-64
Apple ][e
TRS-80
And a few Ataris I can’t recall clearly.
Back in the early ‘00s, someone dressed as Clippy for the office Halloween party.
Heck, I do code and started to write an import service. At under $5 to move my data, it’s worth it.
I never metadata I didn't like.

The real loser last night was Netflix. Its cloud can’t scale.
After careful contemplation and much consideration, I have concluded that I really don't want to rock and roll all night and party every day.
