This little girl showed up two weeks ago. She’s decided to stay so we’re calling her Meena.
I had my misgivings but my husband was right - deep fried turkey is delicious. Though I think injecting it with melted butter helped a lot.

Chapter 3 off to co-author!
It has been a hectic and crappy week. I stopped by the county library’s bookmobile on the way home and it totally brightened my day. Not many libraries on the rez so it was pretty great.
For millennia, the Karuk people in Northern California have used fire to actively manage forests.

I’ve read Clay’s Ark and Survivor both by Octavia Butler since Sunday. It has been so long since I’ve read fiction and an actual real life book with pages and everything! It fell on my face and poked me in the eye when I dozed off… that’s how I remember it was real. 😆
I told someone that it’s not that I’m not stressed about the years to come but my people have already survived an apocalypse.
And just like that…poof… rip TikTok - guess I’ll have to read more or something
I’ve never had to work this hard to win over an animal 😆
I walk past this chisel my husband stuck in the wall and I often wonder if it is holding the upstairs together 🙃
I’m writing a book with a friend of mine… it’s due to the press June 30. Ok. I said it out loud (sort of) now if I don’t finish it, you all will know 🙃
Oscar still doesn’t totally trust us.
My dad would have been 86 this month - I wish I could apologize for every winter morning that I woke up in a warm house and took it for granted that he would always be there to chop the wood and build the fire in the dark hours of the early morning. Just missing my Dad a little today
That’s an NTUA truck out there! Might get electricity this year! (if you know me and you know Navajo rez life, you know that was sarcasm 😆)
