…not to mention shots jumping up out of her strike zone.

The double-edged sword for Venus on clay: it gives her the extra time to set up for her biggest and best shots but it also prolongs points beyond her preferred duration.
The WTA has totally junked up their site with crappy ads.
Hard to imagine the actual sponsors feel like they are being served with these distractions.

@courttheory.bsky.social After seeing your earlier post, I think you'll enjoy this clip of Patrick McEnroe on CNN's Have I Got News For You ...
Patrick McEnroe, who apparently tagged himself, went on Newsmax to discuss his recent take on international players in American college tennis.
The media outlet choosing to make this news should tell you much.
Man, when there aren’t any main draw matches happening, y’all post about some wild stuff. 😅
While Stevie is wearing an Ellesse warm-up suit, may we add…
I KNOWWW Laura Siegemund isn’t complaining about Iga taking too much time.
Once again… 😑
I’d share their post, but Netflix hasn’t posted on Bluesky yet this year.
Anyway, the trailer for the Nadal documentary looks good… 🫠

Rafa Jodar is tearing it up again.
He’s got 17 winners, and Munar has…one. 🤯🎾
Wawrinka just stole the second set from Norrie (who got a little tight at the end).
But now, with almost two hours on the court already, Wawrinka has to do the thing that has plagued him the most in recent play: keep his energy up to complete the third set with a high enough level to win.
Oh, that was from a year ago. He plays Griekspoor in the first round this year.
Well, in this case, Shapo retired… 😂
He hasn’t disappeared. He’s been incrementally moving up the ranks playing Challengers and ITFs. 😅
Those weren’t just pleasantries from Alcaraz. His words for Sinner were thoughtful and heartfelt. 🥹
Big pet peeve:
Commentators who should know better saying, “Back to deuce!” when it’s the first deuce of the game. 🎾
At every level of the game, playing in rough conditions is a challenge.
And at every level of the game, winning under those conditions is rarely done with your best tennis.
It’s not a beauty contest. You just have to find a way to win. 🎾
I’m confused. You wan them to call 30-all deuce? 🧐

The crowd in Monte-Carlo is struggling with competing wishes:
• A win for Valentin Vacherot
• And a Sinner-Alcaraz final

In this "freelance" role at Tennis Channel, the applicant is expected to be on-site for 8 hours a day. 😐

Is it a system where you have to input links, or is it an email where you can control how you package them?
Fonseca is a lot of fun to watch when he's on. But, right now, he's got only one way to win.
If that isn't getting the job done, he doesn't have a back up plan or the legs to win another way.
Hopefully that develops, but it's been apparent for the last couple of years since turning pro.
By comparison, Learner Tien, who Fonseca defeated in the 2023 U.S. Open juniors final, has worked tirelessly to shore up the holes in his game — and that's why he has those top 10 wins that Fonseca can't seem to grab.
