Trump's tactic is simple. Dictate what others (namely allies) should do to "solve" a problem. Take the credit for "solving" the problem and reap the benefits. Whenever things go down south, just blame the others for not doing enough, avoiding responsibility.

The only difference is that Trump will "force" European nations to be the ones stationing troops in Ukraine instead of the US, so when Russia eventually proceeds with its future invasion, Trump can just blame the Europeans for not doing enough to protect the "US interests abroad".

We had the equivalent of the Munich agreement with the previous Minsk agreements. The only thing left is for Putin to surprise Trump in the future the same way Hitler surprised Stalin in the past: by invading the rest of Ukraine, taking what was agreed to be "rightfully" possessed by the US.

@realjakebroe.bsky.social Trump and Putin are clearly working to make the 21st century equivalent of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. Russia gets to keep the territories that it has conquered, while the US keeps the minerals and other resources of the remaining territories for themselves.
